Jamal Crawford

Post#1 » by cellphonecamera » Sun Jul 21, 2019 4:53 am

Dude has been underrated his whole career. He is a scoring machine and he has been in the NBA since 2000.

Dude was the oldest player to score 50 points in a single game. Passed MJ.
Also has the most points ever from a guy off the bench in a single game.
And the only player in NBA history to score at least 50 points from 4 different NBA teams.

If this dude had actually been on great teams at the peak of his career, he would have been an even better and bigger player.

Also, is any NBA team going to sign him this year? Or is he retiring. I still think he has a lot left in the tank.

If he's the scoring machine you say he is, why is his efficiency so underwhelming?

That does not always determine a good and bad player.

Career 14.6 PPG.

He was a good scorer off the bench. Definitely not an elite scorer who just needed more opportunity.

How do you reconcile your belief in his being underrated with the statistical reality that he's been a net negative player for most of his career?

Because he has usually been on bad teams.

I seem to recall jamal crawford playing lackluster defense just so he can get back on the offensive end and do a shimmy behind the leg crossover tear drop or just hoist a 28ft 3pt ricochet bankshot and hope for a foul and/or a four point play.

I'm speaking of +/- metrics adjusted for quality of teammates and competition, like RPM and RAPM. Base +/- has Crawford as a much bigger net negative.

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

He’s probably been the worst player in the nba over the past 5 years. No one has hurt their team more than him.

Going by the responses in this thread, he actually is underrated.. Cmon guys, Jamal was and still is a fun player to watch and root for. Killer of the bench with ridiculous shot making ability. Lou Will is pretty much Jamal 2.0.

I was always a fan.

'Dude' has consistently been a big negative for the recent past.

Hes done(and has been for a while) and shouldn't be in the NBA at this point in his career.
