I had a more famous play in mind than that. I was looking for a video of the play -- one that we normally do NOT think of as involving him -- and happened to find one that made it clear he had a role too.

Who was the SF who played for the 87-88 Celtics who Tommy Heinsohn loved like Waltah and was one of the first in a long line of scrubs he said would be a star? Johnny Most once said his name was backwards.

My first guess was Conner Henry because Henry is a first name. Not sure if he was a SF or SG though.

I’m going to assume I got this correct and ask a question.

Conner Henry had a highlight moment that I used to try to recreate when I was a teenager. I don’t remember the game or opponent. Only the moment. Somebody threw him a very errent pass late in the shot clock that he saved and threw towards and into the basket as he was falling out of bounds and into the scorers table.

I just tripped across a video of it, and there turn out to have been 5 (!) misses and rebounds before the make. It also turns out to have been in a Game 7.

Anybody have more than a random guess as to which series it was?

Good. I'm sure you remember that fool walking around in Laker full kit/colors. Had a sign that said Lakers own the Celtics/Lakers rule the Garden. Haha, hey, he had bigger bollz than I woulda. Chick Hearn said he'd better not walk out into the parking lot looking like that. I was always a Nique fan, so I kept tabs on him that year. Unfort, it was the year he hit the wall. He didn't crash as hard as Worthy, but he lost a lot from 94 w/ the Clips to just the next season. And he hated Chris Ford w/ a passion, which I learned from one of those NBA panel shows. Nique did not hold back, jeez. Said Ford kept him benched to his ire and then expected him to give vet leadership in the playoff series and he gave him an earful of short words. I remember watching that one win you got vs Orlando, good gm.
