Could Julius Randle be an all star this year?

I can honestly see Randle averaging 20 and 10 this year and by all star break if the Knicks are surprisingly in the playoff hunt or near the 8 seed, he could be an all star. He’s definitely going to start for the Knicks since he is the best on the team and if he doesn’t then something is wrong.

...well he avg'd 21/9 last year, so you're not really going out on a limb there.

but yes, averaging that in the East and playing for the Knicks would for sure put him in the all-star game.

No. Whether fair or not people will see Randle as a stat-padder on one of if not the worst teams in the league and that'll negatively affect his vote totals.

Well since no one is left in the East then I don't see why not. Plus the Knicks are lacking at the power forward position so he should get plenty of minutes.

It could happen if he puts up the numbers on a bad NYK squad.

Kawhi’s now in the West. Griffin and Vucevic are the reserves from last year’s EC all stars that Randle would have to beat out. Although I suspect Siakam or Tatum may challenge for a spot next season.

He will put all-star numbers but not sure if team record is enough to warrant appearance.

A Knicks thread on the GB. I'm sure the responses here will be completely normal.

Yes, he has a chance to be an all-star, but he'd have to put up huge numbers if the Knicks are still bad. If they have improved and he's a big reason why, sure he can make it given the east has lesser talent.

He’s not really in the best situation, given the roster imbalance on the team he might not play enough minutes and doesn’t fit very well with the glut of PF/C on the team

I'm really curious to see what kind of lineups and play style the Knicks deploy this season.

Randle is great in open court, so assuming they want to play up-tempo, I could see him putting up similar numbers.

He'll put up good numbers on a really bad team, which in turn will probably end up getting him snubbed since the Knicks will probably be 10-12 games under .500 by the time coaches cast their ballots.

Two words for you; David Lee. Randle is basically a lock, Knicks fans will vote for him a ton if he's averaging 22/12/4 or something like that even if his impact isn't there.
