Kemba knows what it would mean for his legacy to see these guys blow up while he still puts up Kyrie like numbers running Brad’s system the way it was meant to be run. His reputation relative to Kyrie could soar much like PP did in 2008 relative to Carter and McGrady.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

That would be good for us, but i don’t think orlando goes for that. Mo is their only C after Vuc, not unless 6’10 Isaac is considered a C.
mo sucks.
Not at all, just needs to get stronger. Magic also have Khem Birch.

I would do this trade. Hayward gets a fresh start. Robyn can take the kids to Disneyworld everyday. We get a big to develop, and Fournier would be a good piece coming off the bench.
we have Williams with the same skill set as bamba that needs developing. Fournier is trash.

That'd be great, but I would bet a lot of money on it being in BKN. I really doubt the league wants to broadcast a chorus of boos and profanity on national tv on Xmas.

Love his summer notes, he did it the last year or two. Hope the FO is right on Brown - still worried about the Kemba/Brown/Hayward/Tatum fit offensively - could see Brown becoming the OKC Harden sixth man.. but not sure taking out Rozier and Morris eases the crunch enough - do Kemba or Hayward want to average under 20 points a game? Hayward has facilitating ability if he's healthy, Kemba can play off the ball, but - still something to watch with cautious optimism.
Yea it is somewhat of a logjam again with Brown/Tatum/Gordon/Langford/Smart/Edwards/Semi that's a lots of guys. But if JB can be a 3 and D type of wing and attack the rim in transition that'd be perfect. Hoping Tatum goes to the basket a lot, I think Hayward will regardless. We need to be more of an attacking team, Brad's "Mike D'Antoni" offense from last year wasn't all that fun to watch, tbh. We should still take the 3s when they are open, but more penetration and more stuff going to the basket.
Right, except ideally this would be the year Brown graduates from the Jeff Green role to creating more offense for himself.
It’s good to hear usage for both guys will go up - if the ball moves better and maybe Hayward and Walker give up a couple of shot attempts, the offense could be really effective. But I don’t care about usage for Brown/Tatum, I care about increased production and efficiency..

Isaac, not Bamba. Gordon, not Fournier. If you could get those two for Hayward, absolutely. Fournier/Gordon/pick I might think about - Fournier/Gordon/Bamba, maybe.
But Fournier is mediocre and overpaid, Bamba is a major project himself, whose college stats weren’t much different from Williams’ - he just has a little more upside/hype for his length and shooting.

But you couldn't get Gordon for Hayward. That's just a pipe dream. Bamba has potential, and if I could get him at reasonable cost I would do it.

Id rather keep Hayward personally. He's better than any player on the magic roster. I'm 100% on him being back to an All Star this year

In my experience, there would be more Celtics fans there than Brooklyn fans. I would think this will be especially so at Xmas (NYers get outta town during any holiday). Maybe people will come out of the woodwork now they've got KD and Kyrie.

The offense is going to put him in situations and he’s going to have to make the right play,” Hanlen said. “I think last year the biggest thing was he settled too much. When he felt contact he would sidestep, step away, and sort of fade away, which he’s capable of making but also are not high-percentage shots, and they don’t cause fouls. It’s just about being a little bit smarter on the way he attacks.”

You could absolutely get Gordon for Hayward - you couldn’t get Gordon/Fournier/Isaac.. but if Isaac is ready to play the 4 consistently next to Vucevic, they put Hayward at the 3 and have enough offensive impact to be a third or fourth seed. They also picked up Aminu to be a defense-first 3/4. And just to match salary they’d have to do Fournier/Fultz-or-Ross/Bamba-or-Isaac - or Fournier/Ross would be the low end..

We're not trading Hayward. Get used to it. He's Stevens boy and Ainges Cub Scout. Besides Kemba, he's the only other big free agent signing on the roster. Despite what many (even Cs fans on this board) believe, Danny had worked hard to make Boston a "free agent destination".
Dumping and quiting on Hayward to a mediocre situation would be " un gentlemen" of Ainge. He's not some guy we drafted or traded for, then developed, and now we can cash in on...Hayward bet on us in free agency and stuck with it while the team was falling apart. Hayward rides out his contract here and then anything can happen.
If Hayward was to be moved, it would have happened by now.

I wanted us to draft a big. Meaning a guy 6'10 or over, Grant's awesome but he's 6'7 with 6'10 wingspan. If we drafted a big we would've prevented the logjam and could've had a big to grow with our young guys. Bitadze and Doumbouya were my guys at #14 with Herro, Washington, Hachimura and a few others gone.
Good assessment:
PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Great news. If he goes more to the rim like he did in his first year, he has a chance of averaging the 20 points he was talking about. Despite a drop off in his 3 point shot, kid's still a good shooter and will make shots, if he goes to the rim and gets his FTA's averages up, he might be an All-Star next season. He needs to average 6-7 a game and I actually think he will be an All-Star if he can do that.

I have no doubt Tatum has all star potential this season, but will the celtics be given 2 all star slots this year? I’m thinking Walker would be a lock, but im not sure we will be rewarded with two, unless we’re 2nd in the east at least.

Pretty sure Hayward is still on the roster so I got to be smelling something...
Look, I don't know and neither does anyone else on this board. It's just all opinion....but I feel strongly that Danny could have pulled the ripcord for a rebuild but didnt.
Hayward ensures Kemba isn't just relying on young players and adds veteran maturity that that 2nd grader in Brooklyn didn't know anything about.
