The latter. You couldn't pay me enough to force me to trade for CP3 or Westbrook
Of course I mentioned Portland and Washington because I want Lillard/McCollum and Beal. I look at this squad, and the only piece I feel we need is a cold blooded off the dribble sniper that you cannot go under a screen for.
So whatever it takes to get it done if those guys were ever placed on the market.
Would give everyone and picks and Kuzma as well.
I get what you're saying especially considering the Kawhi thing... But that said, Green is actually pretty lethal if left open. Kuzma could be too...
The thing I keep coming back to, isn't so much the talent level, as it is the fit of our talent... LeBron and AD are basically made for each other. I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to imagine a more complementary pairing... This is Shaq-Kobe levels of compounded greatness...
And when you have a big 2 that are that great a fit, having a 3rd star isn't as necessary... But that said, Danny Green is pretty damned close to perfect too...
And then we have Cousins... Who AD loves and seems to be a great fit next to him... If healthy, he's still a top-5 C in the league if AD is a PF...
Personally, I just want to see what happens when these guys hit the floor... I'll be really surprised if we aren't dominating pretty much everyone right out the gate... And if we aren't I'd be willing to bet it's a coaching issue rather than a talent issue...
Sure, I'd love to land Lillard, McCollum or Beal, but I'm not sure how bad we'll need it.
The best part about this team, may actually be how deadly our bench is if lead by Kuz... Caruso/KCP/Kuz/Dudly/McGee should be one of the toughest second units in the league... And Depth wins championships as much as anything...
It's going to be a fun season.
I agree with most of what you wrote esp the bolded part particularly Green who doesn't dominate the ball and play very good defense. I really like Lillard and CJ and yes esp Beal but the first 2 don't play great defense. I agree with Max Kellerman when he said Lakers would have been the favorite to win it all if only they acquired Pat Beverley. I feel if healthy, he would be perfect next to AD, Lebron and Green, with his smothering defense and ability to shoot. But Caruso have shown great promise

also Bradley esp his defense.
