I’m going partial stop here. In the limited times I witnessed the SUNS sweep the ECF Bucks, Bender was legit disruptive. Are peeps surrrrrriously not aware of how impactful this 245th roster spot opportunity is?

(As an aside, Bender did play well against us and if you challenge this assertion I will cut your bologna sandwich into pieces unrecognizable!)

I like the mentor pairing of Vets to youngins.

This is a great signing, relative to the time of summer, and spot on the roster. I don’t have high hopes, but the tools are there, he is young, and its not like he just failed for a top organization well versed in player development.

This might be the most glowing review I've seen you give any move we've made this offseason.
The only thing I did not like was paying Mids like a superstar and losing Brogdon. Nothing else really matters.

Why is Hill left out here? George Hill is more vet than Eric. He can mentor any of Mason, Donte & Sterling.

Thanasis clearly mentoring Giannis.

Really like that Bender signed with the Bucks. Perfect system for him to have success. He’s an agile 7 footer with nimble feet on defense. He had a amazing block against Giannis a few months ago when Giannis was going full speed at the basket. Link below around the 5 minute mark.

With Buds system and playing with savvy veterans I think Bender can find his confidence. He shot poorly last season likely because the Suns declined his fourth year option along with racking up many DNPs early in the season. He’s still a kid so I imagine that really crushed any morale he had going into the season. He has one of the smoothest jumpers I’ve seen from any 7 footer. He gets gun shy so I think that’s where the coach just gives him the green light to shoot everything and I can see him knocking down 40% with your roster. He can dribble the ball effectively for a 7 footer but gets into trouble when he overthinks. His role should be specifically to just camp the three point line and make easy passes that are available. I was upset the Suns didn’t want to bring him back over getting someone like Frank Kaminsky because I think he has the potential to be that glue guy for a team. The Suns just didn’t want to bring any more projects to the team, and Bender will still be a project. Get him to work out with Giannis to build that muscle foundation because he’s still very thin.

I think you’ll be surprised with him just don’t expect much at first. He won’t score 20, but he can be very effective defensively, can make the right passes, and can drill the three if the team has confidence in him. I am hoping for the best for him because he’s a good kid, he just didn’t get the proper development with the Suns. Really he never got a chance.

Not the news I expected to find today. It's a good low risk, high reward deal.

If he can be really tall, know where to stand, raise his arms, and hit wide open three point shots at a minimum 37%, he’s a plus for us.

I love Brook Lopez, but I’m not convinced he did much more last year.

Did you watch any games? Brook was the third most important guy on the team. Middleton was 4th.

I really don't think that's how it works.
The vets' job is to do his job on the court, not be a mentor.

Literally watched all of the games.

Saw a lot of Lopez standing in the correct place with his arms up and making threes at a decent but not elite clip.

I'm going to switch this up to Ersan - Bender, but it's going to be more like a Sorcerer-Apprentice relationship than Mentor-Mentee, particularly toward the end when Bender sneaks into Ersan's lair to steal his Amulet of Charges.
