This happens on the General Board.
People quote you and change your actual words to something you didn't say.
It's very insulting and clearly wrong.
There you are with your username being associated with words you didn't actually say.
People come along and read it as if you actually said it. Even though you didn't.
This practice of deliberately changing someone's quote should be punished for obvious reasons.
I'm not sure if it's against the rules or not but I am suggesting that it should be. Thanks.

No kidding! Lighten up, Francis.
In all seriousness, it's just an internet forum. No one is editing your work to be wrong, incomplete, etc. then passing it along to your boss as if you did it, causing you to get fired. If the edited language breaks the rules then the mods usually deal with it but outside of that...well, s**t happens, dude.

Re: Someone Quotes You and Changes Your Post
So I stumbled on this thread randomly just now,
and I have not yet seen an event on the GB where this as happened. (Maybe once or twice) where posters were in on it together.

Unless it happens to you, how would you know?
That's the point....it's disguised as being the actual post/quote.
So the only way you would know it wasn't the actual quote is if someone re-quoted it and pointed it out.

There is no way of knowing but if any User sees this being done, they should report it by hitting the ! button on the upper right of the post.

I'm not sure we can do this programming wise but if you see it being done, please report it.
