I've watched today the FIBA U20 semi finals Israel Vs France, wow, Deni Avdija is a real beast. I didn't know he's such a talented guy. He was unstoppable tonight against a very athletic France defensive team. Can't wait to see how he'll handle in the NBA.

If Ayayi gets a chance with Gonzaga i wouldnt sleep on him ! He's not in any mockdraft but the last u19 world cup showed us how much he can bring !

Yves Pons (tennessee) however is an absolut disaster

Avidja also much better defensively than he will probably get credit for . He’s certainly an intriguing NBA prospect that teams should look at in the lottery.

I'm sticking by the Avdija at #2 call, at least for now.

I'd say barring an injury or some sort of really underwhelming season he's basically a lottery lock right now.

I'm far from a draft expert as I've stated previously, but after following him through this tourney and checking some stats and stuff from previous times, I'm much more excited about him than I was last year about anyone not named Zion (not saying he's necessarily a better prospect than those guys, but still).

He made some really good defensive plays in this tournament. I saw Spencer and someone else (I think from the Stepien) even had twitter threads on it.

And what makes it even more impressing is the fact he's the second youngest player on this whole tournament, which didn't stop him from winning the MVP title. This dude is really something special IMO. If his shot skill and physicality will be improved (and I don't see any reason why this will not happen), I believe he can be a star in this league. He have the right mix of personality and talent.

It really says something about him that he has a 5-minute highlight reel from these competition and it basically doesn't show one of his best traits: playmaking!

i think I like Maxey a bit better than Cole at this point, though i'm not as high on Cole as most.

Lewis
Hampton
Grimes
Maxey
Sylla

are my top 5 at this point, very preliminary.

Deni is good but the idea that he would've been the 2nd best prospect behind Zion in '19 is nonsense...starting to get overrated quickly, i don't know if I even would have him as the best international guy in '19, Sekou is better and maybe even Goga.

Depends on your takes on the other guys - I think he's at least on par with Goga as a prospect, better than Sekou.

Just seems to me to have a quality, well rounded skill-set, and plays both ends.

He's not perfect but I think he'll end up top 5 at the end of the day for me.

GimmeDat wrote:I have Edwards #1 right now just based on him being the most talented/upside guy in his class, but it seems the effort stuff is a legitimate red flag. I'm hoping for an uptick, otherwise he's not staying in that #1 spot at all.

I don't know about his effort, but he is already an excellent athlete by NBA standards, has an NBA-body, a smooth jumphot, some passing skills and defensive instincts.

To me he is a surefire #1 right now, which doesn't say much since the whole season is ahead of us.

Having anybody but Anthony nº1 pre-season makes very little sense to me
