We could have used him, Matz or Wheeler for the bullpen for now. I don't know the complete trade so I'll wait and see before I go on another rant.

We got 26 year old catcher who's hitting 195 in AA ball. I think that Vargas should have been traded but not for a bag of rocks.

Dumb trade. If you are in "win now" mode, why trade one of your better pitchers this year for a Crash Davis wannabe?

Matz or Vargas could have been a bullpen arm which is needed if you want to win.

If you are going to trade him for nothing, you should have at least sent him to the AL.

Pure speculation but I'm wondering if the Padres acquired Taylor Trammell for a future deal with the Mets. Franmil Reyes was often mentioned as piece for Thor or Wheeler but he didn't really fit a need for the Mets.
