I really wish that C's fans would surprise everyone...and NOT boo Kyrie when he comes back...this crap is getting old...Ray Allen, Durant for not choosing us, etc....take the high road for a change. Now if Mark Blount ever steps foot in the Garden, that's a different story.

Yeah really. It does suck he left but it’s totally his right, and it’s not like he asked to come here to start with.
I think people got the idea that he might leave early on and started the narrative that he was a big problem here. There was some issues in the locker room for sure, but I watched every game and I didn’t see anything to warrant some of the Kylie hate I read on here. It’s like high school where the pretty girl breaks up with a guy and the guy needs to come up with some story to save face.

12 years ago today, Kevin Garnett was traded to the Boston Celtics. Not long after, KG became my 2nd favorite Celtic ever. Him helping raise banner 17 didn't hurt either. Can't wait for the day the franchise raises his jersey to the rafters. There will be no other like him in the league.

DarkAzcura wrote:Yeah I don’t see why anyone has an issue with the fact that we didn’t trade Kyrie at this point. It worked out for us with Kemba. Most of the trades we could had made probably would have had us taking on salary which would had made it impossible to sign Kemba.
Now if there was a deal out there for an expiring and a first round pick, then sure that would had been nice. It’s unknown any team out there had that to offer for a 2 month rental, though. In fact I would say absolutely no team would had made that offer if Kyrie to Brooklyn was as set in stone as the league believed.
Possibly Tobias Harris but that’s still not enough expiring for kemba but gets u closer....just brought up clips because that was the rumored team who made the call on kyrie

Dinwiddie came out and said that he and Kyrie had began talking in December. And it wasn't a one-sided conversation according to him. Dinwiddie said that Kyrie had told him that "New York might be a lot of fun next season". So basically, Kyrie couldn't even wait until the All-Star break before he started thinking about free agency. Dude was doing all of this stuff while he was a Celtic. And you don't want the fans to boo him? The very same fans, whom Kyrie had told in October (in the same building!!!) that he had every intention of coming back to Boston - you want them to not boo Kyrie? That won't happen. If Kyrie had earned the right to go back home as a free agent, then the fans in Boston have just as much right to to boo Kyrie for leading them on.

Kyrie Irving absolutely quit on the Celtics in that Bucks series. No question about it. He deserves to be booed.

Wonder when this is happening...think we were waiting for the Wolves but KG seems to have bad blood with them.

Sorry, but a plea here on Real Gm is not going to change things. He will be booed more than any other former player that has returned to Boston in recent years. He proclaimed to fans he was returning and then did the opposite. He'll be booed the rest of his NBA career here in Boston.

Somebody on the GB called me bitter for this, i'm not bitter. Just sticking to facts. Odds are Kyrie won't travel to Boston for "rest" or "load management" unless it's a playoff game. Maybe Christmas day. Not sure.
He played in cleveland 1 time when he played for us.

Garnett is widely underrated. On a more talented team, he would've won titles much earlier in his career. I know people here will disagree with me but I'd take Garnett between 25-30 years of age over Duncan with ease. Just so versatile and so good at everything in basketball, crazy to think about it(via stats KG was the better shooter, passer, defensive rebounder, defender, just as good of a scorer)...
Good assessment:

I'm regretting this pot before I even make it but: care to elaborate? Anyone care to post some video clips that show this? I'm not trying to be a jert, and I'm not really a Kyrie fan at all, but to me this just seems like one of those things people keep saying because people keep saying it. He didn't have a great series against the Bucks. Sure. But these comments (and not just yours, but a series comments all saying about the same thing) seem to indicate there was some moment where he just gave up. I get that he was already looking to play elsewhere next year, but I don't get the idea he wasn't trying. I did watch all the games, but maybe I'm wrong. Is there stuff that happened in games that anyone can point to?
And again, I'm really not looking for a fight or trying to be a jerk. I was never a Kyrie fan. Never hated him either. Not my kind of point guard. But this constant narrative that he gave up seems to me to be only based on media reports and not game play. The most plausible thing to me was that he decided long before the playoffs that he was going to leave. Then he tried his hardest and he didn't play that well and the team lost to the bucks.

Kyrie no question quit on the C's in that Bucks series. Stopped with even pretending he was trying to defend anyone, multiple times just pointed for one of his teammates to cover who was supposed to be his man.
That said, I have never booed an athlete and probably never will. Bad karma to personalize things in a negative way like for performers of any type.

It's like he purposely sabotaged the team by trying to guard Giannis. Pretty funny that the self-proclaimed "basketball genius" thought it was a good idea for him to guard Giannis 1 on 1.
This is Kyrie's defense in game 5. AN ELIMINATION GAME.
This isn't even debatable. The guy was wearing a Brooklyn Nets jersey already, just based on his defense.

This is not true. We were on his list of teams he wanted to build a future with and he also gave the talk on Fan Night. He was then colluding to leave by December while we had a legitimate shot as a contender. Was also whining about teammates like Jaylen in the media.
If he didn't have a list and didn't do the Fan Night speech, then leaving is fine with me. He deserves everything that comes his way.

The biggest issue to me is having a few teammates over to his house and telling them he was coming back. Then 2 months later he is talking with some Nets scrub
I never expected him back but that is a piece of **** move

The proper analogy here is if the pretty girl cheated on her boyfriend, gave him crabs, then left him right before prom.

This is my take as well. Much rather just ignore him than boo him. Unfortunately the way most Garden crowds are at this point:
-a quarter of the fans will come in Kyrie jerseys and cheer for him
-another quarter will boo like crazy whenever he touches the ball
-the remaining half of fans will ignore the game and try get on the jumbotron during timeouts
