That Berman article is just a weak attempt at off-season "journalism."

RJ Barrett is not the next James Harden? You mean, he's not a lock to average 36 ppg in a season?

Articles like this are mostly insulting to the Knick fanbase. We're a pretty knowledgeable group of bball enthusiasts. Nobody watched RJ at Duke and thought "heir apparent." He's a talented young guy with holes in his game but certain transferrable skills that could make him very effective/impactful.

We just want a player who can eventually grow into a net positive, solid contributor, building block. Knicks fans have been sold so many pipe dreams, I think most of us are more than okay with the slow-but-steady approach.

Build a young core that can win some games and good things will follow.

Not sure if the calf strain injury is BS/damage control or not. Him not playing in FIBA is a plus. Good for both sides.

Definite BS. He was one of the only rookies to play all of his summer league games and he got better and better as the games progressed. Probably just an excuse to not have to play and not put his dad in a weird position since he's the GM of the Canadian National Team. Get rest, get ready for the real season.

Good. I wonder if Brazzers is going, they'll need his offense

When I say BS I mean faking an injury so the Canada team don’t think he flaking and make his dad look bad. Anyway that’s a conspiracy.

Jay-z’s influence is huge. Puma came a long way.

These two will be marketed as the future of the NBA feels good to have one of those. Hope they both do well.
