Absolutely. It's an incredible achievement and RealGM should pay its respects.

Regular season stuff is close to worthless.

The Duncan led Spurs didn't lose a first round series until 2009, and every year of that stretch the team that beat them won the Western Conference.

I'd say this is more than "regular season stuff".

It didn’t “result in a fundamental error like wins”. I’m not even sure what that means. Just a data entry mistake that was easily corrected.

Oh ok cool. Glad I could correct it for you.

Its illusory. They were never as good as you thought they were. One year they win it all, the next year they're out in the first round.

Those teams had many first round exits. Hardly an example of excellence.

They made the playoffs all 20 years and made it out of the 1st round in 14 of them. They made 9 appearances to the WC Finals. They made 5 Finals appearances, and won 4 of them. (Again this is excluding the ring they won in 99)

If that ain't success then I don't know what is.

That's a kind of success, but not the kind most would consider ideal. Losing in the first round is always a disappointment - doubly so for a contender and even worse for a defending champion.

Most teams/fans/coaches/owners/GMs would rather three peat than have a spotty playoff record for 20 years with an inability to defend your title.

Moreover he was in the league 3 years ago, and won a Championship 5 years ago. Is that not modern?

And one of the best bigs in the league defensively still... his final year... but sure.

Edited the OP. Figures the Spurs were the only teams I made a significant error on. Oh well.

You're welcome. No need to add that up manually when a simple bbref search will do.

Excel is hardly "manual", and every team has a franchise index that makes it easy to sort. Plus cumulative win totals don't offer the same insights on each dataset.

Excel is the definition of manual in 2019 :)

Hmm... Nah I don't think so. Pretty impressive I got the exact order correct doing it my way. I should probably receive some sort of award for my work.

Or you could have completed a simple search on bbref, done a quick copy/paste, and gotten the information AND order correctly. Shoot for the stars!

I added up the championships and got 21 so I dropped the old one. The 1999 counts for sure.
I don’t care if it was a lock out. LeBrons first
Championship came during the 2012 lockout season too. Still counts. I don’t believe in *s

Fwiw they heat come in tied for 4th. Orlando is the outlier, that speaks to how hard it is to overcome bad management.

And despite not being a big market, even the Magic were players in free agency when they signed Tmac, Grant Hill, while being in the running for Duncan back in the day.

But their incompetence ever since the Dwight era has completely tarnished their image.
