Ben isn't even close to being a top15 player and highly unlikely he'll ever be. Getting raped by Kawhi and Lowry when you have Embiid and Butler is ridiculous, the dude is such a liability.

It's really not even close. Luka is a better player and he will continue to be in the future. He's a star, he can do it all offensively, and the sky is the limit for him once he improves his conditioning and is surrounded by actual talent (hopefully KP can help in that regard, let's see how he comes back).

I watched 55-60 Mavs games last season. Jordan was utter trash, G-league trash. Barnes does some things well and can be useful on some teams, but he played solely to pad his ppg, that's a fact, no way around it.and yeah, Kp is 18+7 who is Yao level injured, am I not right? I am.

I think that KP is overrated aswell, I just don't think we should criticise him even before he played 1 game for the Mavs. That just looks like a premade excuse for Doncic. Barnes doesn't strike me as a selfish player, but we can agree to disagree. I don't even think Doncic has to make the playoffs next year, I just think wee need to wait for him to play on a good team, before we compare him to proven players.

yeah you obviously had plenty of time to watch our playoff run unfold given your own team got to go on holidays early

thats alright though, im sure luka will supply plenty of highlights for mavs fans this season as they prepare for the long hard battle to 30 wins while benjamin makes his 3rd straight playoffs

Barnes not selfish? We call him Bird Box Barnes on Mavs forum. And he absolutely has to make the playoffs next season coz that's what top players too. Kp not playing will probably help, Maxi is better.

To be fair, they were guarding Ben from a FT line. If that's not disrespectful then i don't know what is. He had constant open looks every single game and he refused to take those shots.
Opponents were simply clogging the paint and made Embiid's life a lot harder. Obviously didn't help that Harris wasn't shooting much better either, but last years Philly team had probably the best pieces around Ben that you can come up with. Imagine Ben being real threat on the offense, how would that open up the floor for Reddick, Harris, Butler and also free up the paint for Embiid.

If Ben Simmons becomes a consensus top 10 player in the NBA next year, i will seriously never consider myself knowledgable about basketball ever again.

Unless he learns to shoot whatsoever, he is never going to be a top 10 NBA player. Ever.

I really dislike when people say "not even close" when it obviously is. Yeah Doncic is younger and Simmons didn't show a lot of improvement in his 2nd season... BUT Simmons was still slightly ahead overall last year because he's a better defender, something that most people don't seem to take into consideration. Simmons had a bigger edge on defense than Doncic had on offense.

RPM : 1.74 VS 1.29
VORP : 4.1 vs 3.6

They were both in the 25-35 range last year, no reason they can't be both in the 20-25 range this year. Assuming normal progress from Doncic, YES, he should be ahead of Simmons. But it's certainly close and no one in their right mind should bet on that at greater than 2:1 odds.
