Hiura just committed a truly pathetic throwing error.

Was brutal. Hurt my eyes to see him make that throw.

Yelich and Bellinger in a tie in fWAR. If it's close MVP will go to Bellinger. Hell, maybe not even if it's close. I think either he's got to get hurt, or Yelli is gonna have to have a MONSTER second half to help the Brewers stay in contention for the WC through September.

Triple crown would do it. .001 back in average and 5 back in RBIs.

If it's close Bellinger will get it because the Dodgers are better. Yelich needs to clearly have better numbers. Triple crown would definitely do it. Either way he's been amazing.

I'm not sure triple crown would do it anymore. It seems like the writers now understand defensive metrics like UZR or defensive WAR on gold glove awards (unless it's Lorenzo Cain) and I think the Trout/Cabrera situation of a few years ago has likely shaken the WAR vs. triple crown thing even though Cabrera won it. deGrom got pitcher win woke-ness out but there is still maybe room for the writers to hold the unwritten "you have to make the playoffs if it's a close MVP/Cy Young race" axiom.

Good offense last night, Yelich hits 2 homers so CC changes it all up and gives him a night off?

I guess if you plan to give Yelich 5 days off or so during the year, a game when you're facing a lefty that sucks and have your *sigh* best available starter on the mound is probably the time to do it.

True but there's already 3 scheduled off days in the next 8.

So Moose doesn’t make a routine play and then Grisham doesn’t even think about throwing home, nice.

Shaw is a dumbass, I’m tired of this guy. He’s lucky we got bailed out on that run down.

Can’t believe Fatty escaped that jam. #ThisIsMyPen.

Thank the baseball gods they didn’t extend Shaw. What a travesty of a season.

Fat Albers somehow didn't blow the save.
