did Boucher pull a Bruno? Mysteriously absent and Nurse was vague about why

Hopefully he's fine, he'll work it off back and he'll be back. Lord knows Basketball Canada doesn't haven't anyone more committed at this point.

Additional concerns with Boucher and a knee issue and why he sat tonight.
Owen Klassen was added to the roster.

What happened to Andrew Nicholson? The guy always played well in FIBA tournaments.

Olynik left for the hospital very soon after the injury. I hope it's not serious.

I can confirm Raptors Chris Boucher will not be participating at the @FIBAWC for Team Canada. Chris ne va pas particioer a la coupe du monde pour le Canada. #RDS- Peter Yannopoulos on Twitter

With Olynk’s injury this hurts even more.

If we lose Boucher and Olynyk, our only true big is Birch.. who is somewhat undersized as is. Not sure what we're supposed to do against Lithuania and Australia with that.

Kinda seems like a nightmare scenario is unfolding right now.

In all honesty he has a better excuse than every other player to drop out right now. He probably should really

If Chris Boucher was injured they would have said he was already so for "reasons unclear" this must have been something else. Could it be disciplinary like he believes he should start? Or is it with all the Raptors staff watching him play first 2 days of training camp and felt he really needs to go into the gym, eat better, and get stronger for the upcoming season?

Man, I really thought Boucher would have a breakout at the tourney. I like his ability to shoot and get up and down. This team really lacks a go-to scorer and Boucher has that ability to get any shot off.

Wonder if Boucher is about to get cut from the Raptors along with Miller and Payne so Masai can bring in a vet...

I have so much admiration for the players who will be there and they deserve our support or we are hypocrites as Canadian ball supporters but it’s hard not to be incredibly disappointed with all of the recent developments and what they might mean about the golden era of Canadian hoops that never was.

At this point I’m very curious what other Olympic qualifiers there are for us because things are no longer looking promising at FIBA.

Will these guys actually show up for that tournament anyway? Or the Olympics even? So much was made about progress but it’s more of the same despite far more talent.

Looks like this year is going to fall on Cojo and Kelly. We really needed Jamal to get out of this group. Very happy Kelly is healthy and didn't do that knee too much harm. Will be a shame if we can't qualify for next year's olympics one way or another.

Had the best time last night with my son - met and got pics with Rohan Barrett, Glen Grunwald, and Hall of Fame inductee Mike Smrek. High fives or autographs from Cory Joseph, RJ, Nick Nurse, Chris Boucher, Brady Heslip and more - got pics of all of them but not with my son. Even got towels from the bench after the game. Boucher did seem listless, but maybe that is just him. Bummed about not playing, or something else brewing, not sure?

Yeah I'm itching to find out why he's out. Does it seem like it was the coach's decision not to let him play? In his post-game presser, Nurse just said Boucher was simply "inactive" and then went on to say they only have Khem Birch at the 5, with Olynyk shifting over sometimes and that's why they want to take a look at Owen Klassen (??). Could it be that Nurse and co. (from Raptors) don't think Boucher is big/strong enough to play the 5, both in international competition and the NBA, and that they want him to work on his SF skills going forward?

So, even assuming a healthy Olynyk, our bigs will be:
Olynyk
Birch
Ejim
Wiltjer
Klassen

And if Olynyk is unable to go, who do we bring in?

A few weeks ago, how many would have had Klassen making the team? Or even on our list of top 15 bigs?

I think I was the most pessimistic among us re NBA participation, but I figured Bennett and/or Nicholson would be there.

At this point should we try adding a couple bigs to camp for insurance? Trasolini? Landry? Anthony?

Or do you think they have already been approached?

Yeah why aren't they bringing back Joel Anthony? Wasn't he a beast for us during the qualifiers?

I was there last night. Birch is a big dude. I always find it interesting seeing these guy up close because Birch doesn't look all that big on an NBA court.

Pangos looked really good. The guy is a talented ball player. Goes to show you just how good you need to be to make the NBA. He actually looked a lot more steady as a ball handler than Cojo but he obviously doesn't have Cojo's size.

I think Nembhard intrigued me the most last night. 8 pts in the 4th, very clutch plays at the end. He also has some good size at 6'4/6'5.
