It kind of reminds me of Simmons. Ppl want him to develop a shot but I would feel uncomfortable with him shooting on the perimeter because it is so unnatural.

He actually can knock them down unlike Simmons (0-17 in his nba career)

Frank just isnt a natural born scorer and thats okay as long as he improves.

Shooting splits per month last year:

39%
15%
37%
31%

Last year:

38%
21%
38%
35%
33%
29%
35%

He can shoot, he's just super inconsistent. Like, if you take out the one month he shot 15% last year, he's at like 34, 35% the rest of the year

Why we comparing Frank to Ben Simmons tho?

It was my comparison.
The are similar because of glaring offensive deficiencies albeit in different areas.

I'd say it's a very noticeable difference in his dribble. From a C dribbler to a B+.

Yeah for sure, just watched it the other night.
It has a summary of franks knicks career as well as commentary from a French knicks podcaster.

Overall they like Frank but the knicks terry and trey is worried about his opportunities.
Offensively to say he is a work in progress is an understatement.

If he is the BEST perimeter defender on the team, he should find chances imo.

On a team that has not defended well, you just make the time for Frank and that’s that. Should be a given.

Frank at point of attack + an elite rim protector = top 10 defense in the NBA.

The crazy part being they'll both be 21 for the majority of this season and I'd bet on that holding true assuming they stay healthy.

Play Frank wherever you want on offense, but we have a lot better chance of winning if he's sharing minutes with Mitch for the majority of the game while guarding the 1.

But if you look at the videos from his French league games and some of the video highlights of him from the beginning of his rookie season, he's much more confident shooting the ball from long range. Fizdale fcked up Frank's head with all that Mudiay talk. I thought Fizdale was going to have a hands-free orgasm when he said all that stuff about getting Mudiay right during the press conference.

I've decided that Fizdale is on my bad side to start the season. Prove me wrong or else you gone.

Fizzdale is:

1. classic Knicks fake hustle
2. master tank commander

I think #1 is a lot more likely.

Yep. His only accomplishment is that licked Lebron's sphincter well while at Miami.

I still think his jumper will be good. The dribble improvement is really interesting because at his height and with his good vision, it is a weapon.

Jumper can take time but nothing broken there. Plus he's shown some good pullup moves and footwork is decent even.

I still am a big believer in him. Maybe I was wrong about him playing point but that doesn't much matter. Maybe he could be a version of Scottie Pippen type of player (okay poor man's).

Would agree fitz didn’t do the best development in a tank year.
It’s disappointing because in a tank, developing should be as close to the primary objective as losing is.

When your trying to win, you won’t be able to establish your preferred destiny, only what it takes to win. This is a missed opportunity imo.
We have only seen fitz in a losing context so he may deserve benefit of the doubt. In Memphis I guess he got tuned out by the vets. He does have that Glare thing but the knicks are young.

Fun stats for the day

Our Drtg this year was 112.9, tied for 3rd worst in the league

The 2 man lineup of Frank and Mitch had a Drtg of 107.3, which would have put us at 8th

The 3 man lineup of Frank, Dot, and Mitch had a Drtg of 98.8. The team with the best Drtg in the league last year? The Bucks, at 104.9

And just because I want to keep talking about it, that stretch where we started Frank, Dot, Tim, Vonleh, and Mitch, those 5 had a Drtg of 100.5 over those 8 games, and an Ortg of 107.7 (higher than our season average of 104). So over 8 games we were a bottom 10 offense, but the best defense in the league by far, and yet because of one bad quarter (the Magic game), Fiz yanked that lineup and never played it again
BaF Lakers:

Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

Bench: Leonard Miller, Jett Howard, Markquis Nowell, Kennedy Chandler, Day'Ron Sharpe

Why? Lol

Hes slowly changing the perception of our team amongst NBA players.

Not to mention hes great with the young guys.

Marc Gasol even admitted that Fiz made him a better player.

I think we are in line for some Payton v. Frank discussion and angst. I like both guys though. I think Payton was a really good signing actually.

Frank needs to be given a key role but a manageable one. This handles bump, if it holds up, is big.
