Uhhh you're telling me what I already knew over 7 years ago with GarPax. Iggy and Aldridge wouldn't get us to the ECF. Look how those dudes turned out. They're definitely not superstars. Iggy finally shined when he wasn't one of the key guys in Golden State. That took way too long and under the right circumstances.
In my opinion the only mistake there was taking Tyrus instead of Aldridge. I think Deng was a good pick and was a more well rounded player than Iggy. I think the Bulls still could have lucked into Rose even if it was Aldridge instead of Tyrus. That team still won 33 games so I don’t think Aldridge instead of Tyrus would have altered the win loss record that much that early in his Career. But having both Rose and Aldridge to go with the rest of the team makes that core much better.
