I'm confused with what youre saying. For example Wade was miamis best player in the 2011 nba finals, doesnt mean im taking wade overall over lebron just saying wade had played better and was the better player when we discuss those 6 games. Mccollum was better than Lillard in the postseason, same thing. And Kawhi was easily torontos best player its night and day in reference to the lowry comment.

His was McCollum better than Lillard?

His scoring was overall better than Dame's after the OKC series, as well as his overall +/-, he was more impactful in key moments especially those denver games (dame was better in the OKC series), and while there shooting percentages werent the best his shooting percentage was better from the field.

Lillard was still having a tremendous impact being double teamed almost exclusively in the GSW series. That alone made life very east for McCollum to attack 4v3.

Have we entered the 'good stats on bad team player' phase of the poll?

So players like Beal and Kemba are automatically disqualified because their ownership consists of clowns and they have had unstable front offices?

Or maybe we should do the reverse and give players extra points for being drafted to well run franchises (like Utah) while ignoring on court play?

I'll say it again: Beal getting super overrated. Should fall behind a handful of these options, and even a couple non-options.

Because he won’t play until after all-star break. Hard to do enough in half a season to surpass guys playing the whole season. I agree that if he were healthy he’d be in already.

This is where I put Oladipo because he I like his chances of recovery and he can get it done on both sides of the floor.

Nominate: Chris Paul

You would put Vucevic in top 15 it seems.

Probably. But I'm not sure. I'm not thinking too hard here.

There is always a bunch of waisted picks on KD every poll that could go to an actual player of the season...

Well he didn’t play any defense last season until the playoffs and then he tore his ACL. I think people who weren’t top 60 players in the regular season and then suffered massively serious injuries can wait for a bit.

It's much closer than you think. Especially when you factor in Siakam's defense.

All advanced analytics show much differently. And Siakam can guard almost anyone effectively, including guards.

They are different archetypes.

Siakam has an ability to switch onto 2-3-4 and smaller Centers. Aldridge is a true defensive anchor.

Siakam is going to look better in counting stats as he accumulates more steals and blocks but he also gambles more. Siakam had the luxury of Marc Gasol, Kyle Lowry, Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard (though Leonard wasn't good this season he was still solid). LaMarcus Aldridge had one of the worst defensive casts in the NBA last season.

Moving forward I think Siakam can be better by next season but with Dejounte Murray coming back the Spurs could be a much improved defensive team if he can stay healthy and Aldridge will look like his normal self.
