Probably not something the Cavs would be willing to entertain, but I'd for sure like it and it would help the Cavs shed some salary, while keeping some youth around. The youth would have higher ceilings than Osman too.

Another one where the Mavs can pull off a 2nd trade using the TPE to pick up Henson

Yeah the Cavs aren't taking back Hardaway in a trade unless they are getting compensated for it.

So Broekhoff, Roby, DFS, and Justin Jackson may be the choices. I'd lean towards Broekhoff, even though he's a good 3 point shooter that the team probably wants to keep around.
If the Cavs aren't saving money there's no point. TT is a much better player and Lee is cooked.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Cavs would save like $5 million I think.

Cavs save $4.4 million in the deal, but then the Mavs, with an open roster space, can use their TPE on John Henson to help the Cavs save an additional $9.7 million. That's a total savings of $14.1 million for the Cavs, and they'd still have a sizable expiring in Lee, get a 3 point specialist in Broekhoff, and would probably also net 2nd round picks in return for the Henson deal.

Mavs can use the rest of their TPE on him and give a future 2nd in return. Would that work for the Cavs?

The Cavs are looking for first round picks for their expiring, but depending if Henson becomes a problem or the Cavs see a way to use the trade exception they'd receive - it could work.

Whelp, that means the Mavs are likely out of the running. They can give a 2026 first round pick, but other than that, it'd be nothing but swaps.

Not out of the running if it could be setup as a 3-way with a team that wants to dump cap space immediately and has picks or a player the Cavs want more than Henson.

I guess. But honestly, TPE + two 2nd round picks isn't a terrible offer. If the Cavs don't have anything else on the table by the deadline, then they should take that, because Henson doesn't figure into their long-term plans.

Would you all consider combining the expiring picks for a bloated contract like CP3 or John Wall? I'd assume not considering the youth you all already have at the position.

Henson might be useful, have to see if he can earn minutes. As for a salary dump, there are occasionally rumors regarding Cavs interest in Gordon Heywood.
