Not to be a hipster but I didn't like Patton even when he was healthy. Low motor, low IQ, bad body language, can really only defend the rim (kinda). I guess it's low risk but I think there's better fliers.

If Patton can stay healthy he could end up being a nice player. His issues stem from an HS growth spurt and not being completely used to his new size, it's why he redshirted his first year in college.

Here are highlights of him in the D league while with Minnesota before the 2nd break in his other foot(he's now broke the left and right foot).

Could mean Adams is definitely not a long term plan for Presti (or he's just giving a shot with Patton)

This guy has played in 4 nba games. He’s not a part of our long term plans. If he develops enough to be traded for a second round pick then it would be a massive win by Sam.

Actually like this contract structure. Just wish we would've given it to someone else.

Well if we are giving him a 3 year contract, Presti is still trying to get something from him (which could potentially mean being part of our long term plans). Most case scenario is that he will end up being a bust anyway so getting a 2nd pick for him would be good enough :)

Low risk/''ok'' reward at best kind of move.

Basically he's athletic but raw. He shot well from three but couldn't hit his free throws.

He shot 53% from 3 in college on a total of 15 attempts. He is 29% from 3 in the g-league on 56 attempts. He is 0% in the NBA on 2 attempts. Let's not pretend he's a 3pt shooter or some kind of stretch big.

Athletic and raw I'll give you. The potential to be solid backup center, but limited to being an old school center not a modern day skilled big man, I would agree with. I think the best case scenario he ends with him being a low end starter, which on this contract would make him a quality backup. Although, that would require a coaching staff that could develop him. Maybe Adams can develop him for the coaching staff and by the end of this year he's ready to be the backup center for next year.

Don't know why we still have Noel on our roster. He probably won't play a lot with us and could help some contender. He would be an upgrade as back up C for many contenders...we could easily get a 2nd round pick for him (even maybe 2 if a team is desperate to get a big)

Wolves fan. I watched quite a few of his G league games when he was with us. He was on a minute restriction after the 1st foot injury but was pretty impressive. Athletically not so much explosive as really fluid and coordinated for his size. What really impressed was his awareness and feel. Excellent passer for a big who really understood the defensive rotations. Thought we had something until the 2nd and 3rd foot injuries and they threw in the towel.

I think that contract is a nice speculation. If I was looking at a low cost developmental big he'd be at the very top of my list. Good luck with him.

noel can be trade with cp3 and a pick to a team instead of sending two or three picks, his contract is good and he is a good back up big

noel has an implicit no trade clause. if he's traded somewhere his early bird rights won't go with him so he'd have to approve any trade.

More than likely he will be trade around the trade deadline to a team that have a chance to contend I see the Clippers as a good fit. Something like this

Clippers gets Muscala and Noel and a 2nd.
Okc gets Mfiondu Kabengele and J.Robison.

Guys that you can sign off the street don’t get traded six months later for first round picks.

yup...there were clearly less market for Noel in the offseason than we thought.

IF he's willing to get traded, we could still get some small value for him though (far from a first obviously)

Still don't know how we will manage minutes between our 3 bigs, considering that Noel is 100% gone after next season, we don't know about Adams future but we need to make his trade value as high as possible anyway and trying to develop Patton...

Guess Muscala will end up being Gallo's back up. We will have a big haul at the PF position if Gallo gets traded (or injured)

Justin Patton sucks. The minutes breakdown will be something like
Adams 30
Noel 18
Patton -2

I dont know if Bazley will be any good but he definitely seems like a humble kid.
