first signing of the summer is some 17 yo CB from PEC Zwolle who was drawing interest from Bayern and Ajax...guessing he'll spend most his time with the reserves but he does have 20 professional appearances already at such a young age

4th choice CB with the sell of Lovren??

no other news regarding incoming transfers which is pretty disappointing obviously we had a great season, but still feel we need to make two signings (creative midfielder who can play in the midfield three all the while slot in one of the front three spots if needed, and a versatile forward who can rotate with Salah and Mane a little more and play through the middle) on top of whatever signings we make to replace depth players that we sell/allow to leave on a free

Keita injured at AFCON, I’ve never hated a comp as much as I hate that one. It was a pain in our sides last time it was on too.

Very quiet on the signings, I would like to see a forward signed at some point. I think we’re good in the midfield with Ox coming back.

Need a top level wing to compete with and back up Mane and Salah. Need a back up outside back. Liverpool is being a little arrogant here. I hope they know what they are doing.

Yes...a little depth wouldn't hurt. Injuries happen. We need a few players, no doubt. VVD goes down, and our defense suddenly becomes average at best.

Simon Mignolet returned to Club Brugge for a $7.7 million transfer fee

Liverpool then signed Adrian to back up Alisson.

Adrian was a free agent after spending last season at West Ham.

What a match yesterday.

There is a significant advantage to these preseason cup games. Liverpool is going to shake off the rust before everyone else does.

OTOH, its a few more opportunities to get injured or tired. The midfield has so much depth it shouldn't be an issue. Lallana even looked good. The front 3 are a huge concern. Origi is massively overrated and Brewster is totally unproven. If Mane, Salah or Firmino go down then Liverpool is in trouble. The back 4 are also a concern. The only guy on the bench that I trust is Matip.

Attack: Salah, Firmino, Mane . . . Origi, Brewster
Midfield: Hendo, Wijnaldum, Keita, Fabinho, Milner, Lallana, Ox, Shaq
Defense: TAA, Robbo, Virgil, Gomez, Matip . . . Lovren

I'm somewhat stunned Liverpool didn't buy more depth.

Was a typical pre-season game. Both teams need to be a lot sharper newt weekend.

Sort of worried we didn't do more this offseason. Not saying we need a ton...but I'd like to have seen us shell out some good $$ for another "top tier" guy. There are a couple positions I think we coulda strengthened up. When your team is in pretty good over-all shape, I think you wanna try and get elite when and where you can.

Oh well.....under the bridge at this point. At least there weren't huge holes.

Bring the title home boys!!! Enough of this BS. It's time

I think you may have a hangover season and not live up to expectations this year. An important injury and you don't have so much depth.

30 years this year isnt it?

that would be a good time to win tha 19th title for pool.

Ive always found b.s to make a difference between Pre-premier titles and premier titles.

Yes...a title is a title. The fact that they changed some stadiums to not allow standing courts....and they threw a sponsor at the front of it, doesn't change the fact that it's still the 'top league' in England.

But by not having won a title in the premier-league era.....kinda tells you how long it's been. This team NEEDS to hoist the league title again....whatever it happens to be called. The CL title last campaign was nice...and it at least gave Klopp and this squad the validation of a major trophy. For what it's worth....this team can point to a trophy, and say "Hey...we did that". And thats definitely worth something. But it's no Prem title. Not with this streak being what it is. They need to get over the top, and bring the league title home again. That would solidify Klopp's work as something special.

Secretly...he loves us. If we hug him, and repeatedly tell him "it's not your fault" .....he'll eventually break down crying and come around to the team he always wanted to root for.

Nice start to the season so far for us. Can't complain. Long ways to go though.
