Dwight howard? Oh well, desperate times...at least we know now, today what we are facing. At least Rob is now given time to find answers

I "DON'T" see the knee contact that the media is stating.
Looks like he planted with intention to push off for lift/elevation.

I wonder more after watching this that, as mentioned before, the existing injury wasn't fully healed.
That just this scrimmage was an unfortunate event.
Maybe it happens later.
Who knows. :dontknow:

These injuries in the NBA frighten me some.
Ron Harper
Grant Hill
And the one that affected me most was Shaun Livingston.

Gotta wonder what the Training people and Team ownership foresee and discuss prior to games like this.

We all know these scrimmages were voluntary via LBJ.

Just gotta wonder what discussions really took place before agree to these.

I feel bad for Cousins!

Seems to me Howard at least matured a bit...man what the **** am I saying...

I haven't read anywhere that we 'held onto Kuz' specifically... It could have easily been just that paying Kuz with everything else was too much... And even if we did hold him out, it may just have been so we kept one young asset, in anticipation of possibly making other moves...
You have to figure if this season starts to go sideways, everyone not named LeBron or Brow will be available and aggressively shopped.

Not having a backup C is a pretty good way to ensure the season goes sideways... I would much rather have Cousins and Kuzma coming off the bench for us... But without Cousins, we have a big problem in the paint.

I think this team needs to look to stay proactive. If you have to give up Kuz to get a solid C, I think you have to consider it.

He's about ready for a new contract anyway... Sign and trade?

Yeah, I thought the same thing... Looks like he was flexing his foot afterward, which I don't think you'd do if you did an ACL... And I see no contact. I'm thinking he might have repopped the Achilles. Although I have no idea how they'd keep that quiet.

Is Faried available? Rather have him than Dwight. I'd even sign Melo first before Dwight.

Lakers gets medical exemption. Tristan Thompson gets bought out. Bear in mind that LeBron pressured the Cavs into giving in to the high demand of this player during a long negotiation.
LeBron reminds him of this, then signs with Lakers.

Up to one year, wow... More than being disappointed we won't get to see him play for us is feeling sympathy this is happening to him. I hope he gets healthy soon for his own sanity.

No to Chriss,
Blatche is overweight, choosing to stay out of the NBA and also he loves to dominate the ball and lurk in the perimeter.
Noguerra seems decent 2-3 years ago but I’m not sure now. Reed looked ok when he played for MiAmi but there’s a reason why they let him go. Faried to me looks intriguing but he’s only 6-8.
If only KAkoc is 6-10 not 6-7, I would try him at center bec of his grit and athleticism.

Aron Baynes is underrated. He's a bruiser and he is a decent shooter, 80% ft and 35% from 3. He'd give 20 mpg in the RS and 12mpg in the playoffs.

Monroe, Baynes, Noah, Faried. If not, sign an established euro big.
NBA titles since the merger: LAL 11, CHI 6, SAS 5, BOS 5, GSW 4.

And he signed a 1 year contract with the Suns. Phoenix may trade him later on for drat picks or other assets, but Lakers have nothing to offer in return imo

If that's all it took for him to injure himself, it was only a matter of time before it happened in a preseason game or training camp. At least now Pelinka will have time to scour the leftover market for some patch up depth like Faried or Noah.

Yup, Lebron needs to get to work now and collect that favor from Thompson because if they fail this season, there’s a fair chance AD walks next summer.
Cavs have the 6th highest payroll with no shot at being decent and buying Tristan now will save them some money. They could wait later on to get offers like future 2 rounders too so it’ll depend how much Thompson is willing to give up in $. His celebrity lover might push to go to LA now too that is if they’re still together.

Landsberger wrote:Aren't we capped out? Trading Kuzma will net you a player with the same salary.....right? What do you get for $1.9M? Nothing worth anywhere near what Kuzma is worth I'd think. That seems like a desperation move. Trade the only guy not named LeBron or Davis who can score a consistent 15 to 18 a game for a back up center being paid $1.9M?

Correct. I don't even think a trade makes sense at this point. We'd have to do something like a 3 for 1, which further deplete whatever little depth we have. Kuz alone nets us a player making 3.6M... this is essentially trading Kuz for a vet min player. Like you mentioned, good luck finding better production from a big making 3.6M. Theoretically we could ship Dudley + Daniels + Kuz for a big making around 9M; We would be sacrificing depth which IMO would not be very smart. At a minimum, it would have to be a 2 for 1 trade given how little Kuz makes.

I am a little perplexed over the desperation given the league shift to small ball... Let McGee play the first 6 of the 1st & 3rd & last 6 of 2nd & 4th (24 minutes) & let AD play the other 24 minutes when Kuzz plays PF...
