Sorry pal....a 10 second video doesn't justify your opinion...

but we're in the offseason + its the Raptors forum. its the land of outlandish takes and invalid opinions.

I wish I never saw it either. It suggests to me that the Raptors are going to try and make Anunoby into an offensive creator, which utterly destroys the Raptors offense. I hope Anunoby isn't creating offense next season.

I'll give him a pass and assume he's not close to 100%.

Nah he has to be close to 100% by now. It's been like two years and eight months since he got injured in college. To me, it's more likely he's just not good at driving and creating shots in general.

TheBoi10 wrote:Dude looks awful in that clip. Terrible footwork (traveled like a mf) and yet super slow. Hypebeast Aminu might be his actual ceiling yet this guy was lobbying hard to start last year :noway:

His lack of fluidity shows in that clip. If that's most of what Anunoby will be doing next season, then I want no part of it.

Anunoby is fine in an off-ball/5th option role where he can spot up and defend and not have to handle the ball often, but 3-and-D seems to be his ceiling. Anything beyond that (ie. creating offense) and he's not really useful.

i don't know - people calling OG a scrub but then you're backing the likes RHJ and SJ considering their careers so far has been as mediocre as you can get.

If anything OG is pretty much on the same level as those guys but OG was drafted by the Raptors and thus I trust Masai with his drafting and track record.

I agree with a lot of this but I don’t think he’s healthy

Someone in this thread said Danny mentioned he’s still dealing with some type of injury (would explain why he doesn’t play in scrimmages)

But as far as being a creator I don’t really see it either. His handle, fluidity or touch don’t really show much upside there. Might be able to increase his shooting another level or become a better driver in advantage situations

But as a creator it’s very hard to see the upside there. A general rule I think guys who are capable of making mid range jumpers on the move are the ones who have the upside to carrying an above average offensive load.

OG should focus on being a defensive specialist with a passable to good off ball game. He has a ton of upside on that end and that’s where his focus should be on improving the most

Maybe that OG video is the "before" of the before/after player development videos.

Man... i feel bad for laughing but old man John Lucas III taking Matt Thomas to school on every single possession (I count over 6 times) was comical. We'll need great help defence whenever he's playing this season

You do know that RHJ avg 14ppg two years ago right? You can probably count on one hand how many consecutive double digit games OG's had in his career

So a slightly better shooter than Tony Allen was...

I got higher hopes for Davis than I do OG.

And no Im not just going off the recent video posted. If you look through my search history...I've never been a huge believer in OG. I always thought his ceiling was a decent defensive Back-up role player.

I hope Im wrong but I was never as hyped on OG as this board was and currently still is

His teammates were hanging him out to dry on the high pick. Lucas was getting separation at will.

I do like the effort Thomas was playing with. It obvious that he not a great defender but it looks like he understands team defense and will be a guy that doesn't mess up your rotations by being clueless. We've had far worse defenders over the years.

and Mike James scored 20 ppg as a Raptors on a very bad team lmao. RHJ did it on a Nets team that finished 28-54. scoring averages on bad teams don't count for role players like RHJ.

But it presents a body of work that can provide many answers

We don't need 20 or even 14ppg but 10helps in limited time

It looked like Earl Watson was giving some HEAVY praise to Freddy at the end. He was pointing in his direction and calling him a true leader and a special scorer. Was it Fred he was pointing at?
