Dotson is kind of Langston Galloway 2.0. That guard who was gritty and turned out better than everyone expected but really, who cares about Dotson? Other than Wingo?
People should be happy. You know how your team is getting better? When players like Dotson get their minutes reduced. Just like Frank.
It's called "improvement"

Perry has reset everything Phil has done except Dot/Frank/6mil Noah money. EVERYTHING else is gone. So...yeah...the impetus at PG has not been based around Frank getting the job. The proof? Mud/Burke/DSJ/Allen/Payton playing Frank at SF. He was drafted for the triangle Phil wanted to implement. That plan got scrapped 2 weeks later!
Does Frank need to improve? Yes. Primarily on offense. Primarily...shooting/scoring. If he gets a consistent 3 he's a solid rotational player as is. I'm down for that.
Dotson gonna wind up at the end of the bench with Frank this year. You'll see.
Guards who will play ahead of Dotson:
RJ, Trier, Ellington, Payton
Wings who will play ahead of Dotson:
Morris, Knox, Iggy, Bullock (if he recovers)
Frank and Dotson will alternate sitting all game in uniform and modeling suits.
I can see it. Defense is all that will get these guys minutes. Or trade deadline tank...if they survive the deadline.

Defense isn't a priority for Fiz. Or the league. They won't play.

Re: The Next Official All things Frank Ntilikina Thread
I wish we had a coach who cared about defense. I'd like one of Dotson or Frank to be on the floor at all times.
To me Frank/RJ and DS Jr./Dotson make sense. Frank playing next to RJ allows RJ to develop as a playmaker (I don't think he is ready to start). Dotson doesn't need the ball to be effective, which allows DS Jr. to have the ball in his hands more. Although Payton is a better player than Frank right now, I don't want to invest in a one-year rental (again).
We can't keep running these "no defense" lineups. We need two ++ defenders on the floor at all times. DSJr., Trier, and Knox together is a mistake that we'll be watching most of the season.

I love Dot but some Knicks fans are overrating him a bit.

Frank just hit a 3 on a fast break, then a mid range jumper for and one back to back.

Albicy: do not want.
France, as well mannered hosts, have had to take Frank out of the game after playing ~6minutes to prevent Argentina from being absolutely blown out.

In Miami he was videotape coach or something.

Frank had a very strong game in limited minutes
8/3/2/1 in 13 minutes.
Good bounce back

I wasn't kidding. France literally had to take Frank (who didn't start and came in with ~3minutes of the first 10min quarter remaining, with the game more or less level) out of the game with about 5mins to go in the 2nd quarter to prevent the game (the lead was ~18 at that point) descending into farce. Now, it's only Argentina and they clearly aren't very good. But you can only beat what's in front of you.

This is a concern for Frank. Perry brought in 4 other PG with Frank being here. Burke/Mud/DSJ/Payton. If he wants to get minutes...he's going to have to take them this year. It's not a good position to be in for him. Being a Phil pick shouldn't matter but...looks like it does. If Frank wants a job...He's gonna have to fight for it. The FO/Jeff/Fiz have shown very little concern about his development...at PG at least.

So this response is a bit different. I agree the "impetus" is not getting Frank the job, and why would it be?
I am a firm believer of players earning time and Frank shooting disgustingly low EFG% is the opposite of earning time.

I wouldn't be. DSJr got enough minutes when Mudiay was on the scene. I just wouldn't expect to see DSJr playing north of 30 mpg, at all. Payton is here to play at least 20 mpg.
When Perry brings in a PG, it's that guys minutes to lose. Those guys get playing time; fairly significant amounts.
Perry is instructing Fiz as to the minutes they should play? It's sad to hear we have him meddling with the coach, when can we get some good leadership in our front office.
How do I put it? I wish I could find the exact articles, but the Pills were pretty clear about a holistic approach to running the team, where the FO and coach were sympatico in the development etc. I just read that their coaching search had a lot to do with a guy who would buy into that. Do I think they "meddle with minutes and set the rotation"? Not exactly. Do I think they make some pretty strong suggestions about who should play, and why, in general? Absolutely.
I disagree with this completely. I think they did not make any such suggestions, but rather they try to get players who fit what the coach wants to do. Both of us are guessing so not much more to say

I wish Perry wasn't holding his minutes back but still it is good to see this stat line. I am looking for highlights, nothing yet on youtube as of 10 minutes ago.

Highlights don't really help, because you don't see how the game is changed by non-splashy plays. I know I keep going on about this, but it's really is important.
Anyway, try: https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/mediaplayer/video/resume-france-argentine-77-58-prepa-coupe-du-monde-1180804.html
If you look you see that the score is ~20-20 with the time showing ~3:30 in the 1Q (about at 0:30?). Then there's a Frank assist and a Frank bringing the ball up the court and shooting a 3 off the dribble. Then the next action is when Frank is already off the court and you see the score is something like 45-27.

Thanks mate, the form looked good on that shot.
His form always looks smooth, not sure why his % isn't higher.
