Honestly I’m not sure that’s the issue. Bledsoe is naturally jacked like very very few dudes are. His genetics are bonkers like that. Look at pictures from high school when he was literally homeless, dude looks just as muscular as he is now. 99.9% sure he went through puberty and just came out looking like he does now, with no weight room work at all.

Jock Landale who played on your SL team started at PF for the Australian team in their 1st warmup game vs Canada (alongside Delly/Mills/Ingles/Bogut).

Landale was really solid offensively, didn't have many chances to pop the 3 ball but still 2nd top scored with 18 points. Defense still an issue for him but I think offensively he's definitely NBA level. Will be interesting to see if the Bucks keep tabs on him.

Also with the Bucks connection... Delly stunk - 0/9 FG, didn't score a point in 26 mins. Warmup game and everyone sucked (quality NBA shooters like Ingles and Mills went 1/6 and 4/13 respectively). Delly has reworked his jumper though, doesn't bring it behind his head anymore and the release has quickened up a lot. Thon's not playing, he's decided to work on his game this offseason.

Look at Bledsoe in his younger years. He was slimmer and not as bulky.

He's always been a beast but I thought he looked even bigger this year. Went from being a beast by NBA standards to having a legit NFL body.

In any case, really disappointing that his shooting regressed last year. It's especially bad considering he probably got the most open looks and the greenest light of his career. 3-point shooting is one of the few skills that can keep improving after your physical prime, so it sucks that he went backwards.

willing to bet you that letting your muscles atrophy is not good for shooting.

muscle-bound isn't a thing unless you're doing something wrong or are a steroid-jacked-up-bodybuilder(who is still probably doing something wrong).

I think its a combination of mental focus/thinking too much as well as slightly inconsistent mechanics with his release.

Yeah, Bledsoe is a bit bigger since HS, go figure. But he was seriously strong in HS. Dude was and is a beast. I don't see a big issue here to be honest but a quicker lighter Bledsoe wouldn't be a bad thing either. From a shooting perspective, I doubt that's a big factor as this isn't a new thing for him (lifting and shooting). But, as others have likely pointed out...dude you're probably as strong as you need to be...focus on shooting! :)

Really liked this kid’s potential. Elijah Bryant still unsigned. Winner of the poor man’s Brogdon award.

Bryant signed with a pretty stacked Maccabi Tel Aviv squad.

Rayjon Tucker signed (credit to Velazquez) to last remaining exhibit 10. Training camp roster/Herd foundational pieces are complete.

There's a lot of options between "atrophy" and having pound-for-pound literally some of the biggest shoulders and biceps in NBA history. Larry Bird said he never lifted weights except for a few forearm/wrist exercises for his shot, and he said Durant does the same thing. He believed that other muscles could get in the way of shooting form. Mourning once said he stopped lifting so much because it was affecting his shot. That's anecdotal, but statistically how many good/great shooters have huge upper body muscles? Lebron's shot regressed as he started "bulking up" more (read: dropping HGH like Ibuprofen). Giannis's shot has regressed since he filled out. There are lots of other factors and I'm sure there are counterexamples too, but there certainly seems to be enough evidence to at least make it a question worth asking.

And heck, maybe he is doing something wrong. Honestly things have gotten a little weird since Suki took charge, and some of the growth/changes in players have me asking questions in my head.

It just seems he's a little stiffer and more mechanical. It's not just his shot but also his handle. I don't remember him mishandling the dribble so much in previous seasons, although I didn't watch him much before he was a Buck.

This one's a toss-up for me. If you believe the early reporting it seems like we verbally committed to this in June. Wonder if we'd make the same decision now if we hadn't.

Your pseudo science bull sounds like the crap that baseball players said in the 1980's.

Between Mason and Adams the Herd should have some pretty solid guard production. Be interesting to see how Tucker fits in there.
