Cam Reddish To Have Best NBA Career, According To Rookie Survey

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:38 am

NBA rookies voted Cam Reddish to have the best career out of their 2019 draft class in a league-wide survey.

Reddish was drafted with the 10th pick by the Hawks.

Zion Williamson was the leading choice to win the Rookie of the Year award, though he tied for fourth as having the best career in the class.

Bol Bol and Kevin Porter Jr. were seen by their peers as the biggest steal in the draft.

Adjusting to the speed and pace of the league was voted as the most difficult transition for the rookie class.

Lebron James was voted as the rookies' most favorite player in the league.

I really wanted this pick for us so we could get Reddish. Potentially he's 17ppg Tony Allen.

Reddish has all the tools, but he doesn't seem like he wants it bad enough.

Yomp. I think his game will really take off after a few tough years. I think he is the biggest sleeper talent in the past few years

Apparently most of these rookies never saw Reddish play last season.

He has the tools to have the best career. I'd bet on Ja Morant, but Reddish has as much potential as any of the other top players.

He is a nice pick #10, no doubt, but this survey doesn't mean squat. In 2014 the survey had Jahlil Okafor for the best career, last year - Wendell Carter. That's just rookies opinion, it doesn't have to be right, probably just means he's a cool guy

If this were the basketball-gm game, Cam would have a 70 POT but OVR could swing either -12 or +2

Which isn't very surprising when you think about it. They play with/against each other once in college, maybe twice. And in many cases they don't face one another at all. Meanwhile, they've all played with/against each other in prep events, high school showcases, etc.

My thought is, is that he'll be out of the league after a second contract (high picks tend to get more chances) or he'll be an 11th or 12th man on a roster for a bit longer. There is so much out there that shows (stats ect) that no one has had success in the NBA with so bad of stats in college.

...this, he was freaking terrible. Zion had like an all time high 40 PER season and Redish had a 13 PER seasons on the same team. It's a friggen joke honestly to even compare the two much less project Redish as better IMO.

There’s no doubt that the memories for many of these rookies is from AAU and all the high school camps from 2-3years ago, and at that time Reddish was the higher rated prospect and always rated top 2 in his class. But Zion 4th? Really? The entire poll is still pretty crazy.

Sorry World B but I I couldn’t disagree more, Reddish was AWFUL last season. He shot 39% on 2 point FG’s despite being the 3rd or 4th option on his team and getting as much space as he wanted. How is that even possible? And for a dead eye shooter he shot 33% from the shorter college arc on primarily wide open looks.

Having talent is one thing but a player who failed so badly as soon as he faced tougher college competition isn’t suddenly going to find his groove and become the best player in his draft class in a much tougher league, especially with very high end prospects like Zion and Morant. I think there’s a much better chance that Reddish is out of the league after his rookie deal then he becomes the best player in his draft class

*spit take*

tony allen has a dog in him defensively. reddish might have ABILITY on that end, but certainly not the intensity. in fact, he said he went to duke in part because he needed improvement on that end...nevermind that duke produced boozer, okafor and jabari

These other rookies must have deep seeded hatred and jealousy for this guy is the only real explanation. Or they are completely clueless 20 year olds.

One of the draft pods I listened too cited an article that went through all the guys that had performed as badly as Redish did in college and they were all pretty much horrific bust. History says there is little almost zero chance he's a "decent" player forget the best player in this class.

People used to talk about the terrible freshman year Andre Drummond had which hurt his draft status, but if you compared Drummond’s stats to Reddish, he looks like a college star.
