The Lakers were a top 10 defense last year until Christmas. So the potential is there.

Still comes down to how engaged Lebron is on D... With LeBron, AD and McGee, in the front, and Green and AB in the back, we have the pieces to be one of the top defensive teams in the league...
But if Lebron takes himself out of the Defense like he did last season, and expect the other guys to cover for him, we'll be mediocre at best.

I think with a veteran team we will see a "few" defenses this year. We'll see the "we're learning" defense, the "Big Game" defense and the "playoff/playoff push defense". We'll also see the "coasting" defense.

This not unlike the 4th and 5th Kobe championship run. Those teams knew how to play it and then applied it when they needed to.

We have the pieces and I hope we finally have the consistency in coaching to make it happen.
