Why did Kyrie run away from Tatum and Brown?

Post#1 » by TheRealKaboom » Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:53 am

Jayson Tatum was considered a present/future superstar at 19, and Jaylen Brown is seen as a future multiple All-Star. Why would Kyrie leave a situation like that?

Exactly. Why would Kyrie leave Jayson Tatum to play with some no-name scrub like Kevin Durant?

Anybody that thinks Tatum is a present “superstar” should be publicly reprimanded

Because he is a coward afraid to see some kids getting more attention than him.

No risk with Dinwiddie or Joe Harris...

Tatum and Brown are/were highly overrated.

If you mean they're overrated because they once led their team to within a game of the Finals while averaging almost 20ppg in the 2018 playoffs as a rookie and sophomore, then yeah, I guess you have a point

My stance concerning these two remains the same: the upcoming season is their prove-it year after they displayed their tremendous potential during the 2017-18 season. I believe the presence of Kyrie on the roster held them back, stunted their growth. I don't think they'll be superstars, but they'll hover around that 2nd tier. I have no doubt they'll meet expectations, and we might not even have to wait since we'll be seeing them play for Team USA.

You're asking the wrong question.

Why did Marcus Morris run away from Tatum and Brown?

Or Durant? Stop it, nobody was getting more attention on the Celtics than Kyrie. Very few people in the league have, his name was in the media constantly. He really gave up on Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge, that's why he left. And it seems he didn't like Boston either. His father played there in college, maybe he heard some stories.

Kyrie's presence didn't stunt their growth in his first season, It was after his injury when those "kids" really got their shine, and then they couldn't sacrifice some of it when he came back. Rozier was even bigger problem than those two, he was very open about him being upset with the lack of attention he was getting.

Durant is out for a long time, remember ?

And Kyrie was in the media not because of the good things he has done/has to say.

When your management/team/fans are happy to move on from a "star"...thats not a good sign.

Pressure is on Tatum and Brown now, they need to prove what they can do now that the weirdo is gone.

That team was better without Kyrie. Should have kept Terry Rozier.

Tatum is a future star, not super star.
Brown is a good role player, not a star.

Kyrie didn’t want Boston.
He was traded there and didn’t like the culture where they dint worship him as the leader.

Brooklyn is home and
KD wanted to play together.

Because he felt like it. I don't know. Go ask him.

Tatum is a bit over-rated. I think Brown is actually under-rated.

Lol, this is definitely a troll thread by the OP. He’s been highly critical of both Tatum and Brown in the past and is trying to invite criticism of them in this thread.

Not with Celtic fans. Brown is a solid 3 and D, not a future 5 time allstar or the next Kawhi Leonard.
