Is Spain a real contender for the title ? Their odds are nice, so I put a bet on them. I'm not a believer in this USA team. Maybe Popovic gets them to play as a team as talent alone will not be enough. Serbia will also challenge them and there is a great chance of an upset.

Greece with better odds than Spain on the site I put the bet, but I don't see it. Giannis' game is just not that well suited for FIBA basketball. France and Australia next, but they appear to be lacking in both talent and depth.

TheGoldenBoy Rubio was the best Spanish player at court, to my biased eyes.

Gasol shooting good but sparing efforts a bit at defense. Llull still returning from his injury did a fine job.
Aside Oriola and some good moments at defense, few remarkable stuff for Spain.

USA looked dizzy but superior.
Kemba was functional, Spida, Tatum and Kuzma were shinny and Middleton the most efficient one.
They need to get better against zones. Spain used it loosely at times and USA got some trouble.

They didn't look invincible.

RedBeard starts for Australia. He was too deep at the paint and Spida got some easy shots. Now he's adjusting and better postioned for contesting them.
Turner defends him well. He's far bigger. Aussies see this and Bogut jumps on to be the 5 (Aron goes to 4).

First 3p from Baynes. 17-13 for USA.
Not flashy but working. He puts some tough screens with people falling to the floor and stuff (him also).

Now, he's being benched. 17-16.

I like Australia. They are hard-nosed, disciplined and hard workers. Ol'Man Ingles is one of my favourites bàsquet players and I like Bogut and Delly thoughness.

Most of his points weren't jumpers. He rather prefers shooting with both feet at the ground (FT-style) regardless the range.
In this game he barely tried his unique trademark-shot, the BBF (Bizarre Balanced Fadeaway) and he looked smart on Scariolo's essay of different types of zone defense (including some minutes of whole court press-zone).

Occasionally bit relaxed and overconfident 'cause the opponent weakness, he payed for it with a couple of turnovers.

Some slight demi-beef nose to nose after someone elbowed him at the mouth (he got a technical foul) but nothing over the top.

He looked more focused on running the systems and ordering the team.
Not so impactful at defense as he normally is... probably he didn't want to spill too much dominican blood.

Dominican systems hardly do P'n'R and Spanish zone systems tend to avoid mismatches so he rarely switched with dominican Bigs and thus had no rebounds at all (in the NBA, he defends P'n'R to the rim and he's surprisingly good boxouting bigger guys to grab some boards).

He's the best Spanish player and the team leader right now: best scorer, assistant and stealer.

Best Golden Boy's friend in the NBA is probably Ol'Man Ingles but Spida and him shared some special link on and off court.

Donovan is a smart kid; he was by far the Utah's player with best comprehension of Rubio's passing game, despite his youngness.
Stumps Gobert, not that much. NoIdeal Favors some better. Ol'Man, KK, Jae & O'Neale, good enough.
