How Would You Define the Clipper Eras Over the Years?

Post#1 » by 50CalClips » Sun Aug 11, 2019 9:51 pm

Can we try to define the different "eras" of the Clippers (or mini-eras or what have you)?
2008, I have no memory of. Its part of a transition era, end of the Elton Brand era and before Lob City.

Of course we have "Lob City," which is defined by the DeAndre, Blake, Chirs Paul teams/era... but does anyone believe it stared with Baron Davis?

What are other "definable" stretches of Clippers seasons that can be assigned an "era" so to speak?

Do other fans see those early 2000 teams as the "Lamar Odom Years"?

*EDIT*
Thanks for the thread, Mods.

lob city was literally only coined when cp3 was traded to the team, so there wouldn't be any reason for the term to connect to davis.

I think of the early 2000’s teams as the “Dunks, dunks, and more dunks” squad- they had local commercials with Odom, Darius, Corey, etc. saying that.

That may be true, but the era may have started before the "coining."

I think it comes down to who defines it-- is it Blake Griffin or is it Chris Paul.

Things got going in Blake's rookie season(*)...

That's when the Clippers became the Clippers for me.

Alot of people forget about this era which was fun as hell and ushered in the Staples Center era for us.

I say the start of the "LOB CITY" Era predates the coining of the term.

The Era is defined by Blake Griffin, more so than Chris Paul.
