Re: Steve Ballmer to Buy Clippers
The Death and Rebirth of the Los Angeles ClippersDoc Rivers acknowledged to Def Pen Hoops that the difference in the team is apparent in its staff: “The second year he was new, so he let us hire a couple of people. Then last year he let us hire a bunch of people. Steve Ballmer was the guiding force … We had 4 people upstairs (in the front office) and now we have 20.”“We want to continue to build an elite organization through the retention and acquisition of players that embody the key ‘Clippers’ characteristics we look for when evaluating talent,” said Lawrence Frank. Jenkins will help facilitate this desire because they believe he is quite adept at recognizing and understanding personalities. Thinking that his vast experience making that very thing his unspoken job will translate to matching personalities, not just identifying them.
Justin Jett, Def Pen

The first page of this thread makes my fears of "Seattle" bubble up again.
Could this trouble with The Forum/MSG be used as the excuse? Could the "Inglewood Arena" talk all be a smokescreen? I hate the thought, but I can't help it.

Yes. And that's Dolan's plan: force Clippers to become Supersonics, all to protect the Laker's best interests (remember that he wanted Lakers to return to Forum in those emails). Casual NBA fans feel the sports world would be better off if the Clippers were never born, even going as far to say the Clippers are to blame for Seattle losing its team, when it was Clay Bennett who laid the blueprint for its move to Oklahoma City. It took a no-relocation clause for Clippers to truly stay in L.A.
Regardless, tis better to be safe than sorry.
