I've never been a Boogie Cousins fan... But now I hate him so much more.

Since they went with Dwight, this is the least they could do both to have an easy way out of this deal and also to let him know he had better be on his best behavior. Smart way to handle it.

I hope he plays freaking brilliant, and a better player becomes available and we waive his ass.

Waiting to hear if Noah gets picked up as well before I make a comment.

I'm hoping this is a prelude to Iggy... Memphis have 19 players on their roster... With 2 2-ways.
They need to make more cuts.

The team's ceiling with Dwight is probably higher than with Noah instead, but the floor is lower than with Noah too lol. This will either be a huge success & a steal, or a complete disaster & he'll get cut during the preseason games or in the first 10 games of the RS.

Also, there's a possibility Rob chose Howard, because he knew Dwight was going to be on an NBA roster one way or the other and he decided to take a no-risk flier at him to see if this might actually work. And in that scenario, maybe he believes Noah will remain unsigned, so he thinks we will still be able to get Noah even after we cut Dwight? This makes sense right?

Lakers have all the leverage. Either Dwight performs and salvages what's left of his career, or he gets cut and takes early retirement. Opportunities like this are few and far between.

Well yes, Lakers could trade Cousins and a future 2nd round pick for Dwight, saves Mem over 2m and gives them a free pick.

Gets them to release Iggy and he comes to Lakers.

If that happens then this is a strong move.

Love Howard’s fit next to Davis in the starting lineup. Will make Davis even more scary.

boo him everytime he touches the ball.

jk...sort of. If he's in shape, I don't see the harm in him being in a limited role.

Oh yes, I guess that's not happening then unless the Dwight deal is delayed.

Dudley and Daniels salary match for Dwight. Do they have restrictions on them?

Edit- it appears buyout deal is done.

Anyways it’s a a non guaranteed contract and he has been told it’s a limited role he’s playing. It’s his career he’s playing for.
