That's a great signing by the Lakers. Dwight can still play when healthy.

Did you guys see that Evan Turner signed an extension with the Nets for 17.5M/year for 3 years? Crazy how he keeps getting this much per year.

Im calling LeVert Evan Turner...
Both are low efficiency players that get highly overrated because they flashed a little ball handling. Neither will be/were worth their contracts.

Ah. I am a little slow. Yeah LaVert seems a bit overpaid.

He definitely can still play once healthy. He really must be that desperate accepting a fully non guaranteed deal with the lakers. No protection at all.

He's more medium efficiency. As a rookie, .556 TS%. Second year, .525 TS%. ET - career best TS% was .520, with the Blazers. I don't think he'll really be worth his contract relative to other contracts - but he's a good young player.
I guess that's the hidden danger of drafting a guy like Caris Levert - you might have to overpay him to keep him. This is what we will be dealing with re: Jaylen.

Dwight's used to no protection considering he's got like 10 kids

Youre speaking in absolute terms with respect to efficiency when it should be relative. ET was a ~48 TS guy year 3 in a league where 52-53 was average. LeVert is a 51 in a league where 56 is average. Both are quite poor.
Hes a secondary ball handler who provides zero spacing and is overrated because people wrongly overrate small sample sizes over the whole. Hes a bag of suck.

I'll never feel bad for DeMarcus Cousins. He always has been, and always will be trash. On and off the court.

He just seems to be surrounded by bad karma so much of the time. You'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt, as generally people are forgiving of past transgressions, but Cousins is always troubled.

That's a pretty negative take!
LeVert is a 53 TS% guy over his career. He's closer to average than Turner ever was. His shooting problems are also much less severe in context - ET's range was mechanically limited (a la DeRozan). LeVert's are more a selection problem. He can shoot the ball better than ET could.
Just came off a pretty strong playoff too.
I expect him to be a solid value at that price if he doesn't succumb to further injury.

He’s gotten worse shooting every year, coinciding with increased usage. LeVert is a poor FT shooter, poor mid range shooter and displayed heinous touch near the rim [58% this year]. There is nothing in his shooting profile that indicates he’ll be an average shooter.
People overrate him because of a ~10 game stretch to open the season and a 6 game playoff stretch. The reality is that he’s a volume scorer that isnt terribly efficient and hasnt shown that he can provide value off ball. He’s not good.
