I wouldn’t put too much into this. This is just Pop experimenting with lineups. Team USA is as vulnerable as ever though. Probably one of the weakest assembled.

Its weird how certain posters avoid this thread at all costs after wins/positive news and only show up after negative news.
A lot of them look like the exact same poster as last year, or the year before. No growth to their game, disappointing.
There's just not a lot of room for growth with such low bbiq, honestly I think we need to blow up the board and rebuild from scratch. Some of these posters are are just too concerned with their own agendas, just iso-posting to get theirs and not paying attention to what's actually going on around them.

Hey. There's no "I" in "Board", or "Forum".
We gotta do it together. One Board, One Effort.

A lot of guys aren't here to be fans, they are here to unload their misery.
See: ANY game thread last year, win or lose.

My favorites were after the wins, tons of "yeah we won but we didn't look impressive, team is horrible to watch".

To be fair, that was true for a lot of our wins.
My biggest gripe during gamethreads was the incessant whining going during the game. People already predicting losses after the first quarter. Yikes. I can get being upset about a loss, but couldn't they wait until, you know, we actually lost the game first? Is getting a 1.5 hour headstart to complain really that important?

Couldn't the same be said about posters who only show up and comment when they play well (hence why this thread was a ghost town last night with only like 2-3 posters contributing to the GT)?

Yes, that team was miserable to watch even during lot of their wins. Great example being entire series against Pacers. Not a single end to end great performance.

I wouldn’t look too much into it. It’s FIBA. Their roles will be different with the Celtics. Not to mention it’s been 3 games.

He's a doofus looking white guy, named after a fruit. What do you expect? The guy should not even be in the NBA, never mind team USA
He actually plays pretty well for the Nuggets.

Everyone gets frustrated, but there were a handful guys who would post negative **** nonstop in every single game thread all season long. Against board rules to call them or their fanhood out over it, but would just offer here that if that is 100% of their posting content over a prolonged period, maybe just maybe their raison d'être for posting here is not in fact to root for the Boston Celtics, but rather just to vent in general.
So be it.

Their roles have nothing to do with the fact that their handles are still mad shaky (and in Brown's case, just horrific) and their court vision is questionable (particularly Brown, who made appalling decisions with the ball)

Is that what i said? Did I call out anyone for being a fake fan? Nope, so don't be a condescending dick.
I got on the team constantly last year, I just was able to say positive things when the occasion called for it. There are posters who went the entire season without saying a positive comment. That is who my comment was aimed at.

Naw, I called this team out repeatedly when they sucked. I also cheered them when they win.
Others like to just bitch and ignore the positive.

I agree to some extent. But I definitely wouldn’t say a lot of guys aren’t here to be fans. I would maybe say a very few.
Almost everyone here is a fan. I see it as being passionate for their team. Some express it different than others.
With game threads, it’s a moment to moment thing. Some of it is overreaction, maybe a little too much. But it’s just a game, nothing more.
Sports is fun and it should just be that. A cool escape involving a sport and team you enjoy. But yeah some people take it overboard. If a loss affects your mood the next hour after the game or the next day, then evaluate your approach. Some even take it further by going after refs after a game (see Euro soccer).
