I think they are swinging for the fences. They kinda know they are not the favorites to win it all and they need someone who can give them the edge esp over the Clips, Nuggets etc. Boogie was the guy and now he’s out. They consulted AD and I’m sure Lebron and I don’t doubt Dwights sincerity right now but I’m not so sure how he’ll react when the team is forced to bench him bec of their adjustment to small ball.

He was an ok to decent player in his last full season. However, will he still be ok this year at age 34?

He won't be asked to do much. LeBron and AD will be doing the heavy lifting.

I think they are saying that so they will not put so much pressure on Dwight early. If they don't need any heavy lifting esp in the playoffs, they would have settled to a natural role player like Faried or Noah. Deep inside they know they will have a hard time beating the Clips, Nuggets, Jazz etc and they are hopeful Howard would be the ex factor like how they projected Cousins' role.
I can see PG, Kawhi, Beverley smothering Caruso, Bradley,Cook and KCP in the perimter. Vogel would try Rondo to stabilize their offense and he's hoping Dwight would cover for the massive deficiencies of Rajon on defense. Rondo in turn feeds Howard down low and attack the smaller frontline of the Clips. Harrell is 6-8. Their only veteran taller than 6-10 is Zubac and they still need to cover AD.

And if he does, they cut him or use his salary (and a future pick) to trade for a backup big when there will be better options available on the trade market.

**** JKidd... Can someone remind me why we have this clown-show coaching staff anyway? If you can't get a good coach, hire a bunch of mediocre ones?

If you can't get a good C... Get a stupid one?

He impressed both bron and Davis as well. I think we need to understand that Dwight is better than all options we had including possibly Demarcus

Now let’s get a point guard/shooter before the trade deadline.

Everyone loves Noah more. Me included. But let’s be real Noah is injury prone. We can’t have that with McGee. Mcgee is great off the bench but he can’t play starter minutes and stay healthy. Thus we need Dwight. Other than last year he’s always been somewhat durable. His last healthy year he also did quite well on the hornets. Dwight impressed our superstar and all star. That has to tell you something. Guy needs this. Let’s all give him a chance and shut up.

Still mad at Dwight but at least I like the contract details. Non-guaranteed deal and we could cut him out at the moment he starts to mess things out.

Signing Dwight is the most practical thing to do since we really need a C but still, I don't like him. I'll change my mind if he helps us win the Chip this season.

This guy sent us into the dark age by himself pretty much. Want nothing to do with him even on a 10 day contract.

No way he would be with his back, if he was we'd have the best frontcourt in the league by far and would win about 70 games this season.

I think 50% is a little more reasonable.

Even 50% of prime Dwight in Orlando is a damn monster especially defensively.
