Javy Baez has pretty good bat control. Even left-handed:

Houser gets sick on Miller Park mound ... again - MLB.com

The 26-year-old right-hander rallied after getting sick on the field before the fourth batter of the game and chucked the best game of his career on Saturday at Miller Park, setting a career high with 10 strikeouts while holding the Rangers to one run over six innings of the Brewers’ 3-2 win, their fifth straight.

“I have no idea,” Houser said of losing his lunch, “but if I keep pitching like that, I'll take it every time.”

Said Houser: “Probably just sick with myself for not making that play.”

“I felt good. I didn't feel sick at all,” Houser said. “It was kind of like last time, it just snuck up on me. Last year and today are the only times it's happened. It's kind of weird.”

Pillar hit an RBI triple with 2 outs in the 8th to put the Giants up. Then, relief pitcher, Will Smith hit a 2 run single in his first career PA. 94 mph exit velocity.

Is there anything Will Smith can't do?

That's quite a play by Harper...not only could that have easily ended up in the corner, he almost got Smith at first.

Reminds me of Eric Thames vs the Reds a couple of seasons back.

The Angels have 19 pitchers with 20+ innings, and will likely finish the year with none reaching 100. They'll be the first team in baseball history without a pitcher who crosses that threshold.

So the Tigers are heading form their 4th straight month of .333 winning percentage or worse. I wonder if that would be an MLB record? And they actually started the season by somehow winning 7 of 10 and then went 6-12 to finish April.

August: 7-17
July: 5-20
June: 5-20
May: 9-18

They’ve only won one series since June 1st, winning 2/3 from the Angels. They split 2 others.

Cause of death for Tyler Skaggs was a combination of opiates and alcohol.

MLB doesn't test for recreational drugs unless they have a reason to do so, per the terms of the Joint Drug Agreement, and there's long been suspicion that drug use runs pretty high among major leaguers. This is the second death in four years directly caused by substance use (and third if you include Jose Fernandez, who was quite drunk and had cocaine in his system when he died).

You really shouldn't combine anything with alcohol. You reeeeeeeally shouldn't combine opiates with alcohol. Better yet: don't do opiates.
