So... this is a real thing. The WH really has spent time discussing the possibility of purchasing Greenland. And Trump's really cancelled his trip to Denmark because he's upset Denmark wouldn't consider it. What? No. Really? C'mon. At this point, how do we not realize he has neurological disorders?

It’s inept but Trumps interest in Greenland is based on real strategic goals and shifting power. With the melting ice caps Greenland is becoming incredibly strategically important. Shipping lanes are opening up that China in particular would love to exploit. Calling it a polar Silk Road. Our idiot real estate huckster only sees it as a way to make a profit. And shot all diplomatic efforts in the crotch by his greed to turn a buck. To buy an entire country? The hell. To invest in it, sure. To increase ports. Business relationships. To pour seed money there the way China is trying. But not to scoop it up and flip it. Or Piss off an Ally that lets us keep our most northern military base in the world there (and has let us since WW2.

A better diplomat would’ve identified Greenlanders greatest concerns and invested in those projects. Not tell Denmark to sell it off so we can stripmine it for the vast untapped resources that have been frozen under those glaciers.

I was just thinking about this. Remember when Conservatives claimed that Obama was weaponizing the IRS against right wing organizations and they lost their ****? Now Trump is actually targeting political opponents and not only so they stay silent they support it.

Again, conservatives have lost all credibility going forward. I'm so tired of turning on the TV to see "Can you believe the hypocrisy of Republicans blah blah blah." It's time we stop being so surprised about anything they do. Remember how outraged they were when Omar shined a light on AIPAC's corruption. Anti-Semite they shrieked! I hear Trump declared himself "King of the Jews." Now there's again...silence. They got their 12 pieces of silver. We need to focus on relegating them to the ash heap of history.

Nothing like a former Republican to lay it out quite like this

Seldom in presidential history has more nonsense been expressed with greater concision. Never would the interests of the United States have been better served by a louder helicopter.

What to make of this? First, the Trump presidency is not just unfolding, it is unraveling. All narcissists believe they are at the center of the universe. But what happens when a narcissist is actually placed at the center of the universe? The “chosen one” happens. Trump is not just arguing for an alternative set of policies; he is asserting an alternative version of reality, in which resistance to his will is disloyalty to the country.

then there is Catherine Rampell, of course being a woman means her views can be summarily dismissed.
She's nasty.

One underrated concern: Trump’s tendency to double down on stupid and destructive ideas, despite — perhaps because of? — overwhelming evidence of their stupidity and destructiveness.

Trump’s worst policies, economic or otherwise, tend to follow a pattern. First, he posits something like: Sure, the experts say that has predictably high costs and bad consequences. But ignore them! Believe me, it’s a great idea, and it’ll be completely costless.

So, his latest attack on Jay Powell is a tweet that he's an enemy of the US. If any other President had said this... stuff about the head of the Fed, it not only would be front-page news, the Senate would likely senture the President for it. The independence of the Fed would be called into question. Now, it's just one more tweet in a series of many crazy tweets for the day - crazy has been established as par for the course - all part of the decomposing of our federal government.

This is really not made up:
"As usual, the Fed did NOTHING!" Trump tweeted. "It is incredible that they can 'speak' without knowing or asking what I am doing, which will be announced shortly. We have a very strong dollar and a very weak Fed. I will work "brilliantly" with both, and the U.S. will do great."
"My only question is, who is our bigger enemy, Jay Powel (sic) or Chairman Xi?," the president added, referring to China's leader.

Everything Trump touches DIES; Can you imagine being Jay Powell, what under normal
circumstances would be the capstone of your career ends up being like this.

I'm going to do something that your left side fears, will never accept, and runs away from the first chance they get, I'm going to own my stuff and be what's that word you hate so much? Accountable

If this is true, then it's ridiculous and he really needs to have a better understanding of how things work in life. He's been an embarrassment and a joke on more than one occasion. We all know he isn't the brightest, or far from being filled with integrity, but there's still no argument of the 4 people on the ballot that fateful day in November 2016, he was still the most ethical, and that alone is scary.

But want to get some eye brow raising comments & takes, just look at your leading candidate Uncle Joe

Most ethical? Really?

I suppose that's because the rest were all baby killers?

This article/link is out of date. I'm pretty sure this list has grown. :D
But it's still pretty impressive. FWIW, when BHO was POTUS,
we didn't have to consult lists. Ethical scandals basically didn't happen.

Yeah I'm rooting for Elizabeth Warren to win the Dem nomination, just like all college educated white guys like me on the interboobs. I'm assuming Biden is winning now because of name recognition, but if he wins the nomination I'll vote for him. But yeah. If the only alternative to an senile racist white grandpa is some other senile racist white grandpa, I'm not sure we're going to get the turnout we need to counteract Trump's inevitable white supremacist campaign. Racism and hate gets people to the polls. We need someone who's going to put up her dukes and punch back. Not Mr. "I'm sure Republicans will have an epiphany" Biden. Idiot. Republicans are campaigning on pure hate right now. Punch those bullies in the nose and crush them at the polls, and when they come back begging for mercy, because there is absolutely NO future for them without the cooperation of the people they targeted their hatred at before, once they truly repent their hateful ways, take action to repair the damage they've done, and actively beg for forgiveness, including changes to the second amendment to allow the number of guns in this country to be drastically reduced, and DRASTIC action to address climate change, and full endorsement of universal healthcare, then *maybe* consider extending the olive branch to them. Not before.
