in what way?i think hes a top 5 guy but I like Hampton and Lewis better at this point

As the clear cut #1 guy. Both hampton and lewis are more raw and less athletic than edwards.

nah, I don't have a clear cut #1 guy right now, and if I had to pick right now, it'd be between Lewis and Hampton.

i think Edwards has probably more potential than anyone else I'll give you that, but I'm not quite sold yet on the mental side tbh, we'll see.

I don't think Lewis has the offense and hampton the fluidity to be top 2. The Wiseman thing is he's very skilled but he's a above average athlete, not anywhere near the best

Yeah, I like Lewis as a late lotto guy, top20 for sure with his tools on defense, Hampton I am not sure, I think he is a solid CG and seems to have a good work-ethic and maturity level, but I am not seeing the all world talent there after watching more

i think Lewis is quite underrated offensively, ball skills better than most think IMO.

Hoopz Afrik wrote:Wiseman is interesting to me. I think he has all the tools to dominate. I'm not as sold on his status as a "unicorn" and my only worry is that he'll come out and really try to prove that he has that modern big, faceup and dribble drive game which from what I've seen isn't necessarily his strong suit. If he keeps it simple (a la Ayton 2 szns ago at Zona) then I don't see any reason why he won't be in consideration for top overall. He has to add some strength and get a bit tougher down in the trenches but I still like the guy.

Yeah another player like that people tend to forget about is Towns. Obviously Towns is more skilled than Wiseman (but not as long or athletic), but he was similarly dinged for being on the perimeter too much in high school and then had his draft stock rise once he was in an environment where he could stick to his strengths. Any dominant interior big in the high school ranks is going to be poorly officiated and subject to all sorts of junk defenses that give their teammates plenty of open looks but don't allow them to showcase much in terms of individual skills.

The five players I am most excited about coming into the season:
1. LaMelo Ball
2. Isaac Okoro
3. Precious Achiuwa
4. Amar Sylla
5. RJ Hampton

As a Grizzlies fan, I know that keeping our pick this draft can mean the difference between having a nice team and having a potential contending team. Although, I am interested in those 5 players, the Grizzlies really need a wing intiator. My personal favorite is LaMelo but as a fan that wants a title, I think Hampton or Edwards would be the best options for Memphis.

Oh and I am going to Stan for Okoro this entire season.

Gutsy calls on both of these players - 2 very charismatic players. My instinct is to not like Hampton because he shoots too much instead of playing team ball. But he's what - barely 18? I like Lewis better. At minimum, he's a little smaller Roberson type with better shooting ability. Real good sign that he makes over 80% of his FT's, but he's gotta cut down the turnovers.

well it's still quite early, but in terms of overall skill set and how they project to today's NBA, yea, they're my top 2 guys at this moment. you should see my #3 for real gutsy.

RJ Hampton's dad said yesterday that his goal for his son coming out of this NBL season is to be the best PnR PG in the draft.

Obviously a good thing to aspire to be, but he's got a lot of scoring/on-ball options around him - I think there'll be plenty of opportunity for him to hone his off-ball utility, shooting, etc. which I think has upside due to his size for the PG spot. Dad also emphasized defense.

Also should come as no surprise but this is the early talk out of Illawarra (LaMelo) -

Is Tshiebwe supposed to be a 1 and done? Think he's my favorite big I've seen (limited film) in this class so far.

not a forgone conclusion, it'll depend on where he's rated...he'll have to fight for minutes with Culver at C

Saw Terry Armstrong (de-committed from Arizona) play for his NBL team tonight in his first preseason hit-out. Looked tentative, struggled to figure out how to make an impact on the game within the flow of the offense (not that he forced anything) or contribute in any other peripheral ways. Obviously a nice athletic base to build with though. His team is very half-court oriented, I think he'd look a lot better on a team that will project to get out and run more as well.

Super early days though, was literally his first run-around against another NBL squad after landing here a week or 2 ago and he's been sick since he got here so. But interesting to see him in person.

who you have 3rd?

Hampton i just recently got sold on. Wasn't super high on the kid but he's gotten much better about turning the corner since he added some size. I like his ISO set ups and I do think he can make the adjustment just fine to not being the best player on the floor for his team. As long as he picks his spots correctly and gets after it on defense which i think he can do then I think he's gonna be fine once he adds the strength in time.

Scottie i like but i haven't seen enough in enough settings to really say if i agree with him being that high but i am extremely curious to watch him this year at Florida.

I like Antman, not super sold on Wiseman just yet and there's a bit of potential in Isaiah Stewart i think if his midrange is real.
