Reading the article that accompanies the audio, it seems that Cousins probably wanted his son to be at his wedding, and the mom wouldn't allow it.

Call was August 23. Wedding was August 24.

I don't know if that woman is a gold-digger using the kid as leverage and to make money via TMZ.
I don't know if Cousins is a deadbeat dad who isn't there the rest of the year, only to boldly demand his kid for photo ops at a wedding.

But I do know that the threat is a bad look in today's environment.
And that Cousins has said or done a lot of dumb things in his career... that tend to dissuade me from giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Obviously Cousins shouldn't be making death threats especially in this day & age, but I personally have a hard time pitying someone biting the hand that feeds her.

i think almost everyone in this thread said that Cousins shouldn't have said that, obviously...it's not a good look, but if this is what I think it is, I get the frustration...especially everything he's been thru the last couple of years. and it wouldn't be the first time one of these gold digging hood rats leverages the children.

I’m sure this thread will be heading for a lock soon, but saw this on twitter and just wow. Cousins should know better than to say something like that. I’m sure he’s mad cause she’s giving him a hard time about seeing his son, but what he said is the type of thing that gets you arrested, forbidden from seeing your kid, sued, etc. - and he’s rich and famiins on top of it all.

Goodness gracious. And she could be the nastiest shrew in the world for all we know, but you don’t say something like that. You guys are crazy who think it was okay for him to say that.

In the court docs, Christy also claims Cousins had choked her during a previous incident -- but she didn't provide any specific details.

I mean.... I wouldn't be overly shocked if this is true.

Well if Tyreke Hill can get away with it then maybe Cousins career isn't over....

Then again Adam Silver isnt Roger Goodell and he's not trying to make the AFC more competitive so...Cousins is probably effed
