They could nickname the floor "Supreme Court" with the press announcer yelling all rise!! They could have sound effects of slamming gavels when they make a defensive play. They could even have a judge for a mascot."

Ooh, how about the Washington Scotus. Go Scoti! Oh yeah, they'd have to be limited to 9 players.

Hey, I guarantee, no other sports team has used it. Yes, that's my only selling point. :(

It would give all sorts of trolling ammunition online, too. That's a kind of selling feature.

Really, if we're going for new names, I can't think of anything actually wrong with the Washington Kickbacks.

The Washington Heartbreakers , when they loose it fits us, when we upset other teams it fits. And 1989 Shaun Micheals can be our mascot !

I beat you by 3 minutes with "Bureaucrats" -- but I'm really starting to like the Filibusters.

How about the Washington Rebuild ?

The Washington Reconstruction

A name I do like is The Locomotives. I like it as a tribute to The Underground Railroad which this region played a major role in for a historical reference. Also Abe Pollin chose the name Bullets because of the phrase "Faster than a speeding bullet". Well the next part of that phrase is "More powerful than a locomotive!" . They could do up a cool logo with a speeding train, blast train sound effects in the arena, play the song Love Train for fun moments during intermissions, etc. Plus, unlike Wizards, it's a tough name.... You don't want to get hit by a train!

Ha. Pretty much all of the names are worse than Wizards.I'm just glad Ted didn't rebrand them as the Monuments.

That's all well & good, Ruz -- but "The Monuments" would be the all-time great (i.e. bad!) name for a Washington DC basketball team! I mean... I liked The Filibusters a bit, but it's not in a class w/ Doc's coining!

That was my biggest concern with a potential name change. Maybe there is a cool way to do a logo for it, but the name itself is pretty lame.

IF we name them the Justice (the best name I've seen), maybe we can get the Notorious RBG to come out and rap at halftime.
