Voted for Oladipo.

Kind of wish there was another Raptors player to nominate here.

It's not crazy. Jokic is insane. They're both insane. The difference between the two is razor thin.

this is a 19-20 season poll... Oladipo isn't ready yet.
I'd give Mitch the nod easily over a couple others taken ahead of him in this poll

Yeah, such a realgm thing...

Only realgm thinks that Jokic was better in the RS. (+ Jokic small edge in RPM over 16 more games.)

And even better in the playoffs.

You also want to have a look at the durability factor, let alone when they are both playing.

Should Oladipo really be getting consideration if he's gonna be out at least half the season? Because if he was healthy, he would've gone higher on this list.

Honestly I think Gasol has a legit case around this point. I mean I’d have some people clearly ahead of him, but I’d definitely have him ahead of some nominees and maybe ahead of some people that have gone already.

Voted for Vucevic. Together with Oladipo, Vuc is the only #1 team option for a playoff team, but Oladipo will not play before December.

Nominate Murray. He is barely TOP50 player last season due to inconsistency, but that is well expected for a 21y old, but in his 4th season it is time for the final breakthrough (he has the game already, consistency is actually the only what he need). I see him as TOP30 this season, and if he played on the East, he would be very probably a 2020 All-Star!

In OP there is a way too long list of 50 players which is painful to research every time. Here is a shorter list of 30 players to be used instead, with erased players with zero chances to be chosen as 2019-20 TOP40.

Trae Young (ATL)
John Collins (ATL)
Jayson Tatum (BOS)
DeAndre Jordan (BKN)
Zach LaVine (CHI)
Lauri Markannen (CHI)
Otto Porter (CHI)
Kevin Love (CLE)
Jamal Murray (DEN)
Andre Drummond (DET)
D'Angelo Russell (GSW)
Clint Capela (HOU)
Malcolm Brogdon (IND)
Myles Turner (IND)
Lou Williams (LAC)
Kyle Kuzma (LAL)
Jaren Jackson Jr. (MEM)
Khris Middleton (MIL)
Robert Covington (MIN)
Zion Williamson (NOP)
Julius Randle (NYK)
Mitchell Robinson (NYK)
Danilo Gallinari (OKC)
Steven Adams (OKC)
Aaron Gordon (ORL)
Al Horford (PHI)
Tobias Harris (PHI)
Deandre Ayton (PHX)
Marvin Bagley III (SAC)
Marc Gasol (TOR)

Oladipo would've been picked ages ago if it weren't for him being injured for the early part of the season.

I did already re-do the list a little bit, looks like you’re working off the old one. For instance, I have Kevin Durant and Jarrett Allen on the list for Brooklyn which you don’t, but not DeAndre Jordan who you left in. I can certainly trim it down more though. I think we can all agree that Jaylen Brown, Reggie Jackson, and Jonas Valanciunas won’t be getting voted in this year for instance. Some of the people who aren’t on your list are legitimate candidates though. For instance, Paul Millsap, Lonzo Ball, Danny Green, and Montrezl Harrell would probably all make my personal top 40. I think those may have been added later by me though so you might not have seen them on the original list.

Of the bubble guys you didn’t list:

Gordon Hayward- Has a case. If we’re thinking Klay’s gonna bounce back from a serious injury in midseason, no reason that Hayward couldn’t after an off-season to recover.

Joe Ingles- Top 40 in RPM 3 years in a row. Would make my top 40. Very good case IMO.

Bojan Bogdanovic- Led Pacers in scoring after Oladipo went down while they continued to play at a playoff pace. Weaker case, but I can kinda see it.

Jusuf Nurkic- Ranked 21st in RPM as a 24 year old. Sounds like his injury is more serious than Oladipo’s, less than Klay’s. Borderline.

Brandon Ingram- Very polarizing player that a lot of people are very high on and rate ahead of guys like Tatum. Seems like he should stay.

Eric Bledsoe- Top 40 player IMO. Ranked top 25 in RPM last year. Guessing you just missed him because I just added him.

Brook Lopez- Same as above.

Jarrett Allen- Second in PER on a playoff team at age 20. Seems like pretty good potential.

Obviously this is super nitty to be going over guys who are borderline for the “watch list” for the nominees, but it’s kinda fun to go over guys who might not get much attention later. I probably wanna keep all those guys on the list except for the first 3 I mentioned. In fact of the 2 most borderline bubble guys I see one has a nomination a few posts up. If the OP’s long and unwieldy, I can certainly trim it down though. I don’t think we need a copy of the rules at this point for instance. So that will be out of the next OP plus 4 candidates including whoever gets nominated this time.

I literally thought you meant Dejounte Murray until I read the next comment after yours. And I was actually nodding my head like, "Yeah, that's a nice hipster pick. Interesting. I like it."

Forgot all about Jamal.

We only have like 5 nominations so far, 2 pages into this thread. We seemingly have more people criticizing who hasn't been nominated instead of actually nominating. Right now Jamal Murray is leading the nominations. With 2 votes.

I have no idea how Dipo is getting all these votes but Klay isn’t. Obviously they’d both have been on a while ago if they weren’t missing a substantial part of the season, but does anyone really think Dipo is better than Klay to the extent they’re available? Or are people just accounting for Klay missing a couple months more than Dipo?

I think Gobert definitely IS top 15 in the league. 13 seems pretty reasonable to me. I wouldn't throw a fit if you said #19 either, but somewhere in the teens surely.

I'm uncertain on Dipo's return date. Seen mixed opinions on that. I was working under the assumption that Dec 1st was his target date and Klay would be after the all star break. Pretty big difference there, and I think Oladipo is the better player outright.

I'd imagine people are valuing what Dipo can do as a #1 option more even though it was just 1ish season.

Actually, these are pretty reasonable projections, if you watch the league.
