Obviously they’d both have been on a while ago if they weren’t missing a substantial part of the season, but does anyone really think Dipo is better than Klay to the extent they’re available? Or are people just accounting for Klay missing a couple months more than Dipo?

Not only is Oladipo likely to return 2 months earlier and be closer to 100% in the playoffs, I’d also have him significantly better when healthy. Oladipo was arguably better than Steph and KD his last full season in 17/18. He finished 6th in the league in RPM and had a great playoff series where he nearly outplayed LeBron at his peak head-to-head. Last year, he fell off some and he wasn’t playing at the same level even before getting hurt, but he’s at least shown that potential.

Klay meanwhile, fell off quite a bit last year and looked horrible during the regular season. He finished 23rd in RPM among shooting guards which is probably the weakest position in the league. His defense looked downright bad at times. Now he did pick it up quite a bit during the playoffs and looked like his old all-star self, but when a player who peaked 4 years ago has declined every year AND THEN he picks up a serious injury on top of it.... I think it’s fair to question how he’d come back.

I’m picking Conley here who would be my #20 pick overall but I’d have Oladipo pretty soon and well before Klay. I don’t think Klay would make my top 40 for the coming season. FWIW in last year’s poll, pre-injury, Oladipo went #13 and Klay went #21.
