Clippers Fan Survey Series: Where you from, homie?
If people are willing, thought I'd survey everyone's Clippers fandom in a series of polls.
For the first one, thought I'd start with where Clippers fans come from.
And if you'd like, share where you're from, where you moved to if you moved away, etc (but no need to get too personal/too specific, your call).
*EDIT*
"So Cal" = referring to the Greater Los Angeles Area

Me...
I'm born and raised in "the heart of L.A." (shouts out to LAFC supporters)... moved out-of-state years ago, but I feel like I never left.

Born in Hollywood. Raised in Silver Lake and Los Feliz. Living currently in San Diego. Not too shabby.
(1 year in Seattle. 2 years in NYC... all other 45 years in either LA City or the San Diego area.)

Perhaps it sounds like I'm nitpicking, but for these intents and purposes, "So Cal" is in reference to the Greater Los Angeles Area (from Santa Barbara to the I.E. -- not including Kern Co, San Diego Co., Imperial Co.).

Born near and raised in South OC. Had season and part season tickets in the early 90s. Moved to Columbia, MO in the mid-90s, but I spend a couple of months a year back in Southern California.

It's your world, but I don't think demographers or other "systems" have ever really included Santa Barbara as part of "Greater LA" (aka The Southland)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Los_Angeles
SB is an entirely separate TV market for example, with its own separate network affiliate TV stations, etc.
But, I have always considered SLO County, Santa Barbara County and at least Rosamond if not Bakersfield if not all of Kern County... as well as SD and Imperial counties... as "So Cal".
Just Me. No wrong answer.

Re: Clippers Fan Survey Series: Where you from, homie?
Went to college in Santa Barbara. Never considered it Greater LA area but did consider it Southern Cal and Laker territory (sorry guys).
Our games came on Fox Sports every night when I was in college.
That was awesome.

You must have watch the Clippers play in Anaheim(?)
I don't know/remember too much of those days, just how often would they play at the Pond? Was there a feeling that the Clippers were more "our team" (more than the Lakers) for people in OC because they played home games there?
I wouldn't mind if today's Clippers did that once or twice.

Yup. I saw both Game 4 playoff home games--92 vs. Jazz, 93 vs. Rockets. That Rockets series was epic.
The 92 Jazz game 4 was in the Pond. It was 100 times better as a basketball arena than the Sports Arena. I only saw 2 games at the Pond, but I loved it there. Everyone did. Everyone in 91 thought we'd move there. Yeah, it felt like "our" place. Great arena, great crowds. We had a great coach and a super young playoff team. And it all went to $#/!.
The Sports Arena was actually fun. Terrible arena, but nobody went to games and game packages cost nothing. You could move into the lower section pretty easily. If you got there early, you got to see and meet players. Guys like Bird and Worthy and some of the good defenders would be checking out the floor an hour and a half before tipoff, looking for dead spots they could move opposing players on to. The whole place had 60s plastic that had turned yellow and a "your granddad's arena!" vibe. It was a trip.

I thought the Pond was built after 1992, so I wikid the 1992 playoffs.

Looks like the game was at the Anaheim Convention Center (where I've caught other basketball contests before).
Then I looked this up.
I find it unbelievable that that place has actually hosted an NBA playoff game within the last 30 years.
