Texans got fleeced. They had little leverage though after Clowney refused the Miami deal. Think they just wanted him and his poor attitude & work ethic gone tbh. Still, good pickup for Seattle considering what they gave up.

Exactly.
Once he refused to be a Dolphin I expected him to get moved quickly and for what wouldn't be a great deal of value.
Things worked out for Clowney!

I like the Tunsil/Stills trade, but if none of the stuff you got in the Clowney was necessary to complete the Miami trade, then why the hell not keep Clowney and make the Miami trade anyway?! Even when bumbling ol' Bill makes a good move, he can't help making a **** move to go with it. Good god, are offense might look good finally just in time for our defense to take a massive **** hit. Can Morey take over the Texans too? How does one city have 2 very competently run franchises, and one turd of franchise, and the turd is the most popular and lucrative. Please let the O'Brien regime end before they ruin Watson's best years.

The addition of Stills makes it a little more palatable. Tunsil is worth a 1st/2nd by himself, so throwing in another 1st for Stills is steep, but Deshaun MUST be protected. I just don't get why if this move was on the table why we wouldn't go all in and keep Clowney for one more year. With the addition of Tunsil/Stills, and assuming a mostly injury free year for our key guys, keeping Clowney could make us legit contenders.

The deal just keeps getting better & better.

So, not only will Seattle get Clowney for the 2019 season in exchange for a player who was likely to be cut, a rotational depth piece and a draft pick that has a low probability of working out, the Texans are paying nearly half of Clowney’s salary. Adding that on top of the fact that the Seahawks saved several million in cap space by unloading Mingo on the unsuspecting Texans, and the net cap cost of having Clowney on the roster for Seattle in 2019 will be roughly $5M.

We're basically paying him $7 million to play for Seattle in exchange for a 3rd rounder which we'd have gotten anyways. Fantastic stuff right there, Ass Chin is the greatest.
