Steven Sims showed what he can do returning kicks and as a slot receiver, but is it enough to make the 53? And if he does make the 53 man roster who gets cut? Cam Sims dropped a few balls against the Ravens but had a pretty good preseason before the Ravens game. I think one of these two make the roster and the other will be resigned to the Practice Squad unless they’re claimed off waivers.

I’d cut Doctson in a second. Keep a group of versatile guys who will do whatever it takes - including blocking and special teams.

Sims, Sims and Davis. In my book, they all make it.

Yeah Doctson just couldn’t stay healthy. It was time to give someone else a look.

I’ve been rooting for Davis since before the skins drafted him. I think they were expecting him to contribute last year but that horrible leg injury before the year started killed those expectations. In fact they didn’t even list him on the first official depth chart from the Redskins. Davis earned his spot with his play at WR & as a gunner on ST.

The Doctson era was certainly disappointing. I still think he's a real talent, but it seemed the production was just never there. Apparently Minnesota is already signing him, so he'll be reunited with Cousins.

Steven Sims might have passed Cam Sims in that Ravens game - and with Davis being somewhat similar to Cam, I could see Cam getting cut. I really like our 2 rookie WR draft picks and wouldn't be surprised to see both starting by the end of the season.

Projected starting receivers: Paul Richardson, Terry McLaurin & Trey Quinn.

Backups: Robert Davis, Steven Sims Jr & Kelvin Harmon

Honestly, that might be the fastest group of receivers we've had in decades. Seriously

It also is the crappiest. Richardson stinks. McClaurin is decent, but he's a rookie. The others wouldn't make it on any other team's roster but the Redskins.

This year is a complete bust. This really will be a 5-11 season.

You call it "crappy"...I call it "unknown". :D

Honestly, why is trey Quinn regarded so highly? Like what has he done to earn starting justification? Injury prone, non productive and an unknown who didn't play during the pre-season... why in the world is he on the active roster? He might have run some decent routes in the preseason last year but he isn't particularly fast for a slot receiver.

I hear you, but I recall an article where Doug Williams shared a story about how things can get intense in the draft war room. It seemed that Jay wanted to take Quinn in the 4th or maybe it was the 5th round. Doug felt that was too early to take Quinn. When the team picked Apke & Settle instead Jay walked out of the room.

After drafting Hamilton & Stroman the skins made Quinn Mr Irrelevant with the last pick in the draft. Leading to Jay walking back into the room all smiles and shaking hands in celebration. Like you I don’t get the love affair either. Still he’s going to play because Jay seems to think Quinn’s going to be solid and produce. I just hope he can live up to Jay’s expectations.

Good stuff. It'll be interesting to see if Steven Sims eventually gets that slot receiver spot. He's small, but he's the same height as Jamison Crowder, and he provides a play-making threat - which Jay Gruden loves, also appears to have good hands.

Welp, can't say I understand or even forgive Trent for his holdout, but hey - bottom line is the Skins need him if they're going anywhere this season. If they start off terribly, they can still trade him.

Lol Antonio Brown gets released by the Raiders and now this happens.
Get ready for the rumors. :D

I’d hate losing Davis, hopefully he gets signed to our practice squad.

Davis checks all the boxes for big, strong, fast, etc but the word was he doesn't have great quickness which makes it hard to make cuts needed for various routes. Still, I'm surprised they didn't keep him - since they let Cam Simms go. They must be looking to acquire another WR, but I doubt it's Brown - especially after our coach's brother ultimately couldn't deal with Brown's act.

Hester inactive means Brantley is healthy enough to play. I’m hoping he can show something.

Moreau inactive puts “the people’s corner” Moreland in the slot. Look for the Eagle to test him early.

Martin & Pierschbacher inactive makes Bergstrom the back up at C & G. This makes me nervous.

The skins had a few plays when a WR got past the Philadelphia Secondary. If the OL could hold their blocks a tick longer I wonder if Keenum can connect.
