I'm not familiar with FIBA, if a team loses a game, are they out? Or just unlikely to win gold?

It is strange how NBA role players from Europe and other parts of the world play so much better for their national teams.

neither.. 2 out of 4 teams from group advance to the next stage, then new group of 4 teams is created (2 best from 2 groups)... 2 best teams from that group advance to quarterfinals, and it's elimination games until the end... so you can win max 8 games on the tournament and win it, or u can lose 1 game in each gropu and still get to the quarters
