One thing about Bichette that has been better than advertised, is his speed. Fangraphs gave him a 45 for speed; MLB Pipeline gave him a 50. But he’s been quite a bit above average at a sprint speed of 28.5 ft/s. He even has a “bolt” where he ran over 30 ft/s.

After he had been so good recently, Anthony Kay got lit up like a Christmas tree today.

Brendon: Thomas Hatch has crazy numbers since the Cubs traded him to Toronto. 34 innings, 35 Ks, 2 BBs. Any reports on what to attribute this to?

Eric A Longenhagen: Toronto identified that Hatch had made a change (I think he added a cutter) shortly before the trade. So, I’m guessing that’s the difference. It was in place before they got him, not something they tweaked afterward.
Also, Yennsy Diaz has been up and down over the past couple months...today he's very much up. Has a 7 K/1 BB no-hitter going through six, on 75 pitches.
Edit: lost the no-no, but 7 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 walks and 8 Ks isn't a bad day's work. Last five starts: 31.2 IP, 2.27 ERA, 28 Ks, 6 BBs.
**** your asterisk.

Only three earned runs, but nine hits - not an outing to remember.

On the other hand, Santiago Espinal is having a nice end of season run at BUF - BA to .323 so far.

Bichette no longer a prospect on MLB.com;
http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2019?list=tor
Bichette moves out of number 1, Hatch moves in at 30. Pearson the new number 1.
New Top 5:
1. Pearson
2. Groshans
3. Manoah
4. Kay
5. Pardinho
Bichette gone on Fangraphs too.

Hatch up 14 and Curtis Taylor added to 24.

According to She
Kay and Zeuch, along with Alford and Davis will join the Jays for some or all of the remaining games. Kay pitched last night.

Started the season in the Dominican League, then the GCL, finished in Vancouver. Did well at all levels.

Zeuch will apparently pitch Tuesday after Font does his opener thing.

Now, finally, I don't have to deal with that crappy MILB website any more. The app is even worse.

I hope they actually let Alford play consistently. I really don't need to see Fisher (another reason this trade sucked).

I'd rather see Alford in centrefield where his speed is a differentiator from all the other outfield candidates.

Agree. Not sure that the organization sees it that way though. Alford has played the majority of his games in AAA in the corners. Davis has had more games in Centre. This could be an interesting battle between the two (who are actually brothers-in-law!).

True, but none of our current outfielders can deliver defensively like Davis who is elite - but probably doesn't have a major league average or better bat.

But do either Randal G or T. Hernandez or Fisher have major league avg bat? I dunno these guys are hitting .232, .220, and .185 respectively. There OBP isn't that much better either - .284, .294, .284
Might as well see what we have in Davis or Alford.

Hernandez is OPS'ing .930 post allstar break in 44games, now you could say this is a hot streak however this has started after he went to Triple A. Alot of our hitters get better when they come back from Triple A, I think Hernandez is the real deal and will give you a .800 OPS with passing defense at C and Good running. Thats a 3+ WAR player. I honesty think Hernandez is a part of Vladdy/Biggio/Bo/Gurriel Core. The underlying metrics are there too, he barrells balls and hits them hard. If he ever figures it out for a season, you have a superstar. Now whether he figures it out fully remains to be seen.

Jays really need to find a way to trade for that stud center / right fielder.

Teo and Grichuk are both pretty good defensively in RF, and passable in CF when needed.

Last season, 3,652 home runs were hit in Triple-A baseball. This season, Triple-A switched to MLB baseballs and that number skyrocketed to 5,749!
