This is the game by which I will judge the Mike Locksley hire.
He's clearly the right emotional choice. The team galvanized on all levels against Howard. No way D.J. Durkin would have generated that spirited and decisive team effort. That said, the Howard Bison were completely over matched. They also had a new coach and they were disjointed.
I think this game will be radically different. I'm expecting a loss; although, initially, I didn't think Syracuse should have been favored at the start of the betting lines.
The more I think about this game the more I think it will come down to coaching and their defensive line vs Maryland's offensive line. I expect Locksley is going to try and force the run game and it's not going to be effective.
(All of that said I'm hoping for a Maryland blowout. You have to be good to lead 56-0 at halftime.)
