Not really. It's not that deep. Michael Beasley was simply a tweener with a low basketball IQ. He's been a journeyman for a reason.

Beasley had to get dragged out of bed for a pre-draft workout, Westbrook had already been in that gym for 2 hours in a full sweat. There's guys that have it and guys that don't, I don't want to hear the coaching excuse for Beasley, he just didn't want it enough.

If Herro were to become a bust he'd be the worst bust in Miami Heat history.

The 13th pick just doesnt hold that kind of weight man. It definitely looks like teammates/staff like his work ethic & personality though.

CP3's restrictions come off in about a week, wonder with the additional flexibility if OKC and Miami try to get something done (possibly with a 3rd team).

I don't think it really matters that he was the 13th pick. He's getting really hyped up and a lot of people expect him to be good. We need him to be good more than we needed Beasley to be good.

He's hyped up because he's shown some ability vs lesser talent in summer league and one of his strengths is shooting. As of right now the Herro situation feels a lot like a somewhat recent situation in Chicago when they picked a potentially good/great outside shooter at #12 (McDermott) that the fanbase fell in love with him because of the shooting need before figuring out he couldn't defend at the NBA level. What's worse is that Chicago traded 2 mid 1st round picks that year... who just happened to be Nurkic and G.Harris for Denver.
People need to pump the breaks on Herro, even a shooter like JJ Redick took 4 years to get over 20 mpg. Luckily Herro looks to have a good work ethic which will help him greatly.

False. You can never compare the expectations of a guy picked at 13 to the #2 overall pick. Top 3-5 pick is franchise player territory, that isn't the expectation for Herro.

Beasley had higher expectations but higher expectations doesn't=bigger disappointment. 76ers drafted Fultz #1 but 76ers fans already moved on from him like he was the 20th pick because they didn't need him. Herro being a bust is worse than Beasley being a bust because we almost need Herro to be a good player.
