Re: FIBA World Cup
If Japan had been allowed to have Pokemon on their team they might have won, or at least been competitive.
Japan does beat USA in baseball. Maybe Karate too, if Chuck Norris isn't there.
Wake us up when Serbia play Team USA.
Plumlee, even looks bad against those little Japanese players. Kemba finally found someone half a foot shorter than him, and blocked that shot away like Tony Battie rejecting Earl Boykins.

A lot of Tatum's highlight plays rely on his length, e.g. when he reaches out to pass around people.
Yeah, he's always used his length to his advantage, but to me, he looked, somehow quicker, like his first step is more explosive. It's just a highlight clip, though. Guess I'll see if it's true in a month or so.

This is probably going to be the best game of the tournament. I watched Greece play a little bit, they absolutely suck outside of Giannis but Giannis is so good that he got them to the second round anyway.
Greece is actually pretty good - they just aren't a great fit for Giannis. They have a lot big guys and they are more streaky than good from deep.
But they will cause us some problems. They have multiple playmakers in the backcourt and their bigs can shoot and pass.

He definitely did.
I’ve been a Jaylen fan since college. Loved his upside and wanted Danny to draft him.. well before most on this board was a fan of the idea.
But I soured on him a bit after last season. I’m no longer as optimistic as I once was about his potential.. but would love to be proven wrong. Still rooting for him.

True. To me Barnes ain't worth 20 mils, but he's been getting them for what 4 years and will continue getting that type of money. As I said Murray is not worth 32 mils a year in any way shape or form but obviously he got that from the Nuggets.
I know a lot of Celtic fans don’t want to here this, but Murray is so much better than Brown. The gap isn’t close. Murray and Joker were carrying the Nuggets in the playoffs.
I feel Brown has 8-12 weeks to show Ainge something for them to pay him around $20 million a year. If he continues to be the same player, Ainge should look to trade him if he can at the deadline.
Brown is a great kid. Smart, and by all accounts, a good dude. But it's painful seeing the success of Murray, and especially Hield. I wanted Buddy real bad in the draft, but Danny had to go with the athletic kid who can't shoot.
I don't mind the pick. I like Jaylen Brown. He still has a real shot at becoming an All-Star caliber player in this league. He's already a good 2-way wing. This is a big year for him. but all of that said, you just can't max him out. he's not a max player yet. He's 20 million max. I'd prefer 15 (won't happen).

Well if he is increasing his strength you would think his first step / explosion would get a little bit better.

Highlights vs scrubs aint worth much but better than seeing him stink up the joint while his teammates killed it.

Looks like that he realised that the team is filled with chuckers and if he isn't aggressive he will not be able to do anything on offense like in the first game, where this was very clear.

His layups are still adventures. The rest of that looked good.

Murray averaged 17 pts on .420 from the field as 2nd option on the Nuggets. He's a better passer and ball handler than Brown. Doesn't do anything else better than Brown- shoot, defend, rebound(even the 3s and Murray was known to be a shooter).
Murray is also better at creating his own shot, creating for his teammates, the better FT shooter, better court awareness, higher BBIQ, and more poised/clutch in closing minutes of games, better at P&R.
They aren’t close.

Re: FIBA World Cup
I honestly think this FIBA World Cup is really beneficial for Brown & Tatum specifically. Considering their issues of finishing through traffic in the NBA and the fact that FIBA is just so much more physically demanding/tougher and you won't get the "superstar" calls in, it will help teach them a lot and improve their confidence for the upcoming season.
Really hoping Tatum gets to the line much more because of it.

Re: FIBA World Cup
If Jaylen Brown was given minutes and touches he could average 20+ ppg with good efficiency.
He's a strong defender and always steps up his scoring in playoffs every year.
Those who want to trade Brown are simply wrong. He's only 22 yo.
